SunPass scam warning!

Just like others posted above, I get a picture of my car and toll booths I pass through in Florida via USPS mail (but I have been pay-by-plate). I just signed up for SunPass mini and will be curious how it will notify me of deductions (I have autopay replenishment). Of course, I can always log onto my account.

I get an email receipt each time it replenishes, (credit card charge).
I get an email once a month with a link to log in to the app for the monthly list of tolls we've been through.

Unless it's political ones where you respond stop so they don't keep texting you. I only bother to do that every now and then but in the last 3 weeks time I had 3 political texts due to the August primary then in June I had two related to a local push regarding funding for sports arena/team. I wish those counted a robo calls but they don't. They are supposed to stop however if you send stop

Ummmm, were did you get that impression? The one where I said I texted stop but still got more? Because no where in my comment did I said I got more after responding. I never said I responded stop to any of the 3 I got in the last 3 weeks nor the two in June. Those ones I ignored and didn't bother to hit stop or end (which is another variation I've gotten). I said I only bother to do that (respond stop) every now and then.

I can't stop them from being sent in the first place from political action committees or candidates because they aren't illegal texts, they aren't considered robocalling. But when I opt to respond to those particular texts, which isn't always, I don't get anymore from that particular action committee or candidate. Depending on the election cycle that may mean that was the only one I got or it may mean I get multiple ones in a particularly heated cycle or one where there's more going on such as constitutional amendments or sales tax increase or whatever where I'm going to get more from various candidates or political action committees.

No legitimate toll agency should be sending a bill by text message. If they are going to send you a bill, it's going to be by USPS mail and it will most likely contain pictures taken of the vehicle as it went through the toll plaza.

The two FL tolling agencies (E-PASS & SunPass) will try lookup your account by license plate and apply the toll(s) to you account. If they can't match to a plate number, then they will mail an invoice.
