Does anyone work for this company or know of anyone who does? I spoke with a lady handing out samples at Sam's last weekend and, while she was doing that job for her uncle's ad agency, she told me that some of her friends worked for Sunflower. When I checked out their website and tried to sign up for information, one of the questions they asked was for a social security number. Needless to say, I didn't complete the form.

So, I was wondering, does anyone know anything about this company? Thanks!

I worked for them for 6 months: Replied to an ad on Craigslist, then applied online via an email from the recruiter, was booked that weekend - RED FLAG #1 - never did I speak to anyone on the phone or meet with anyone in person. I show up the day I am scheduled, 10 minutes of "training" and then I am working at a demo table. RED FLAG #2 - if you are unable to work that day for any reason, even because of an injury, they make YOU feel bad by complaining about what a rough spot your putting them in and bla bla bla. Here's the deal - you are not an employee, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR COMMISSIONS - That's it! The lady above was right - after you make $400 as an independent contractor you are required to deduct13.3 percent for Social Security and Medicare, and possibly more depending on how much money you actually make with them. ALSO, you are not paid for the time when you have to call in before each job to activiate your card and do your training, you are not paid for filling out paperwork and submission time. In addition to that you are required to get there at 10:45-10:50 to swipe your debit card, you are not paid for that 10-15 minutes. So technically you are making minimum wage to stand there and repeat their stupid phrases over and over and over again to every single person that is within 10 feet of your stinking table. You will repeat the same phrase ATLEAST 200 times! ALSO, you get audited to see if you are following every single one of their ridiculous steps "to the letter", if not you get a red, after 3 reds you're fired. Following such strict rules seems as though you would be an employee, not an Independent Contractor......hmm, and therefore you would deserve better pay - oh my, could this be RED FLAG #3?

The only good thing I can say is that for the most part they did pay on time, and if you are in a rough spot, the money helps. You will also be working with people who are not so intelligent because the good people figure out quickly that they are being screwed and either get out or get fired because they refuse to put up their stupidity!
