Sundowner Celebration at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is hosting a Sundowner Celebration every afternoon after Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade until park close now through June 30th. Activities include cultural experiences, entertainment, food demonstrations, and "encounters" with nature and animals in the Discovery Island, Anandapur and Harambe sections of the park. Check the Jambo Jeep in the Oasis for specific times and locations, but here's a sample of what's on offer:

Discovery Island
-- The Island Groove - steel drum group performs throughout the area
-- Viva Gaia Street Band! - multi-cultural music troupe leads the street party
-- interactive activities at the flamingo exhibit

Harambe Village - Africa
-- at Mombasa Marketplace, visiting artists and work by wood-carvers, painters, jewelry and henna artists
-- food demonstrations
-- Wine-Walk & Juice Tasting, overlooking Harambe's waterfront (additional fee)
-- street party featuring Harambe's Tam Tam Drummers and the Burudika Band

Anandapur - Asia
-- expanded merchandise at Mandala Gifts, including an Asian henna artist
-- tea-brewing demonstration hosted by Joffrey's
-- cooking demonstrations featuring Asian-inspired treats, such as Pan-Asian fried rice
-- entertainment by artists playing traditional instruments
-- authentic cultural dance and street party with Bhangra DJ Anaan

Folk art and other special merchandise, as well as specialty food and beverage offerings, will also be available.

I actually like the fact that the park empties out after the parade, but I guess it makes sense that Disney is looking for ways to keep people there.
