Yeah, me. And in this case, cheap is most definitely NOT cheerful!
The scooters were very much the worse for wear, with the arms split and the body extremely chipped and scratched. The first
scooter I had the battery cover was held on with a bit of duct tape on one side and self-adhesive Velcro on the other, so needless to say when it rained, the scooter died.
They are not contactable between 6pm and 9am, and while you can ring and leave a message on their answermachine, you have no confirmation that they have actually listened to the message. In fact, I was still ringing them at 9.15am the following morning trying to find out whether they were delivering me a replacement scooter direct to AKL where we were having breakfast at Boma. when the driver eventually texted me and left me his number, he didn't answer when I rang it.
The second scooter was in even worse state than the first, with the seat being lower and more tilted back, and it actually rocked from side-to-side. I also noticed the following day that the front tyre was completely bald.
The speed knob was so loose that if I went over bumpy ground it would turn itself round and I'd either be on extra slow or it would have got knocked to full speed when I was manoeuring through queues. I banged into two people, and goodness only knows how many bins and lifts are now dented because it would run on a good foot after I'd released the tiller. Going backwards was even worse.
The only plus point was that at least the batteries held charge well and I only needed to plug it in over night and it would then last right through the following day/evening. In fact, only once did the level drop by one bar - and it was nearly midnight at that point!
