Hi.. Does anyone know if it is 2 checked luggage, for Sun Country, and also what is the weight limit on them??
Another dumb question... How do you gage how much you have in your suitcase before you leave for the airport?? Do you fill the suitcase then put it on your home scale to get an estimate?? Sounds dumb I know, but would hate to have to much and get socked!
Thanks..

Hi Candy,

Not dumb questions. Check the Sun Country website for the amount and weight of baggage you can have.

Yes, we usually put the baggage on the bath scale to get a ballpark weight figure.

herc.

You have to have some heavy stuff in your bags to make them too heavy.

Here is a link to the baggage info for Sun Country. Two bags, each 50lbs or less. http://www.suncountry.com/suncountry/baggage.jsp

Here is what is says at suncountry.com
Check-In Baggage
Passengers can check 2 bags free of charge. The first bag can be up to 62" combined linear measurement (L+W+H); the second bag can be 55" combined linear measurement (L+W+H). Each bag can weigh up to 50 lbs. Baggage in excess of this is subject to an additional charge (see below) and space availability. Bags weighing more than 100lbs. and items longer than 5 feet will not be accepted as checked baggage. Only skis and fishing rods can be up to 6 feet in length. There is a $40 additional charge for items such as bicycles and snow-, wind-, surfboards under 5 feet. Sun Country Airlines does not transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods. We do not transport medical oxygen for personal use for passengers with disabilities. Like all passenger airlines, we are prohibited from transporting scuba diving tanks, even if they are empty. Styrofoam coolers are not accepted as baggage. If you have questions about baggage including the transportation of firearms, medical or sports equipment, please call 651-905-2737 or 800-359-6786.

Thanks to both of you! :Pinkbounc

Also, if you can't get your bag to balance on your home scale, stand on the scale holding each packed suitcase, one at a time, and note the total weight. Then weigh just yourself, subtract that number from each of the original numbers and that's how much each bag weighs. Or have someone who doesn't mind knowing their own weight do it :teeth:
