I have always said that I would never go to DW in the summer! I have been in May and loved it. Well, it looks like we may have to plan our next trip in the summer, probably in July. Is it possible to enjoy Disney in the heat and with all of the crowds? It will be a 10 day trip with 10 day tickets, so we would not spend all day everyday (2 small children). What do you think?

Go to the parks early. Take advantage of any EMH in the morning at MK. We did this in June. We stayed in the parks until before lunch. Went back to the resort for lunch. Napped in the afternoon. Did character meals or Ohana's in the evening. Ten days give you plenty of time to take it slowly.

One other thing. If you go during a down time of the year the parks close earlier (especially MK and MGM). If you go during busy times of the year (Summer, Spring Break) the parks are open very late. It always seems like we get to do everything we want, sometimes it just takes a little longer.

Having been to WDW many times during June/July with young children, we've learned to just take it slow, drink lots of water and basically let the kids dictate the pace.

We go every year at this time. I teach and have children taht are school age as well so other times of the year just don't work for us. Go with a plan, get to parks at opening, use fastpass wisely and plan on a break during the most crowded/hot times of the day. Have fun!

I always said that I would not go in the summer also but the last 3 years I have been down to the World in June , July and August. If you can wait till later August its better but if not like the other posters stated go EARLY!! This past July we did Soarin' several times because we made every rope drop. We were able to accomplish everything at a comfortable pace. You'll have a great time either way!!

I have gone in July and June, and I felt the heat was worse than the crowds. Nevertheless, I was still able to accomplish everything I wanted in a 1-week trip. I would agree that it's best to get there as early as possible (I usually didn't make the rope drop--not a morning person) and most importantly for me, get out by 2pm. For some reason, by 2pm, it just seemed like it got unbearably hot and crowded everyday at every park, and I was forced to flee back to the room to collapse on the bed and have a lovely beverage while watching the Disney TV channel.

I have heard people comment that the evening EMH was too crowded to be worth it, but I went to all of them. Even if the crowds are the same, it's still more tolerable to wait in them at 2am than 2pm!

We were there the end of Aug. this year. I planned on being in the park all day but with the heat we ended up going back to our room for a quick swim and a change of clothes. I would suggest to get there early and be flexable. Listen to your body or your kids. It is no fun just to keep pushing to see"everything". It is better to take it easy and see what you can and enjoy your time.

The best tips have already been posted by previous posters and they are absolutly right. I also agree, that, with the parks being open longer hours, you do get to do most everything...it just takes longer.

After 3 trips in the summer we are looking forward to showing the kids what WDW is like in January...I think they have had enough of the heat and crowds.

I must say that the atmosphere in the summer season cannot be beat, the pools are alive, everybody seems like they're on a long hoilday, plus it gets dark later. It really is a lot of fun despite the miserable heat. Just have a plan!
