Summer's Planning Journal 08/20 Update 08/10/07

Mine don't sit flush either and at first it really bugged me but the more I look at it, the more it's growing on me. I think I'm going to leave it...at least for now. I love both my rings and maybe someday for an anniversary or something we'll have something created...

I did look at getting a ring designed but it is so expensive and I only want a thin, plain band. I have decided to just go with the ring I tried on in the store, actually seeing a pic of the space makes me think it looks quite nice now.

On another note I just booked the Exotic Rasul Spa Experience for Steven and I on The Disney Wonder. Here is the description..."Experience this pure retreat for two. Pamper each other in the privacy of a secluded chamber and steam room. Indulge yourselves with body mud, aromatherapy massage oils, a host of fabulous facial care products and more." It sounds perfect for our honeymoon:love: I have booked this on our at Sea day from 6.30pm to 7.20pm which gives us 70min to get to our room and get ready for Palo:love: I can't wait!

Summer-I am not sure how far down the prongs on your e-ring go, but I had this issue with a wedding set and my jeweler was able to take small notches out of the prongs which allowed it to sit flush. As I had them soldered together, you couldn't tell and it worked wonderfully.

Summer,

I am in somewhat of the same predictament. There is no ring on earth that will fit with my engagement ring because of the way the ring is shaped. What I plan to do is move my E-ring to my right hand and have a very nice ring (yet to be found) on my left. Just an idea, if you can't stand the gap.

I think the gap looks just fine! :) You don't have to have a "matching set" it can be anything you want. My e-ring and wedding band are completely different...although my e-ring is a simple, 4-prong round solitaire...

I actually like the way that pic looks! :thumbsup2

Oh boy, the Rasul! You're going to love it. My DFi and I did it when I was working on a cruise ship, and it's a very unique experience. Our skin felt awesome at the end.

oh my gosh - you are SO going to have to tell me all about this when you get back!! my DF and I are going on the Wonder in December as part of our honeymoon as well but it's too early for me to book these add ons yet :sad2:
however that is exactly what we are planning! Rasul and Palo!! :goodvibes

The spa experience sounds wonderful, and I've heard Palo's food is amazing. As for the rings--as someone else said, perhaps you can get a jeweler to slightly alter your engagement ring to allow it to sit flush with your wedding ring if you really can't stand the gap, but I think it looks fine either way. My mom's rings didn't sit flush either, and on their tenth anniversary, my dad got her an addition band with sapphires and diamonds, so now all 3 bands fit together pretty well.

Summer- I know you've pretty much decided on a band, but check out the site www.flyerfit.com They seem to specialize in just your predicament! I didn't completely look through the site, but I did see an e-ring a lot like yours and they make many different bands to fit flush!

Might help other with this problem too!

Thanks everyone for the replies to the ring problem. I have decided to just get the ring and leave the gap, I looked into getting one designed and it was really expensive ($1400) and that is so not in our budget right now. Plus I think the gap thing has grown on me to be honest. My mom and I are going into the city again this weekend and I am going to show her and if I think it looks alright I'm going to order them.

Well, I received an email this morning from Forever Memories, I think in regards to getting my Sand Ceremony Kit. They have said I can order it on the 9th of August and they will send it to Disney on a 3 day mail, at no extra cost to me, so it should be there before I arrive. Below is a pic of the kit I will order. We will have black and white sand as this is our theme.

I really love this set, all the bottles come with stoppers and I intend to get the glass engraved with our names and date when I get back to the UK.

Now, about this Pirate and Princess party, I am undecided if we should go, it kinda interferes with my plan, but I really think this would be loads of fun and I know my mom would love it. I'm now thinking of going on the 18th of August and dressing up of course as a Pirate:banana: Can anyone tell me if this party is recommended? I mean the firework show sounds amazing but it does mean I'll have to shuffle around my ADR's a bit.

Here are some of the costumes I was thinking about, plus we could use them on the Pirate Party on the Cruise too:

My choice of costumes, I like the first one the best.

I may just get him the shirt and he could wear the Unisex hat and he can get his own trousers, i'm not sure.

What do you guys think?

Summer, I love that first costume too. As for your DF, I like the first costume a lot, but some guys can be 'iffy' about dressing up--I don't know if your DF is the same way, so if he is, maybe the hat and shirt with his own pants would work.
I'm glad that you've worked everything out with the rings--not that much longer to go!

Hi Summer, I saw that you posted on Fairy Tale Brides trippie. Did you see her post about the Rasul? She wasn't really that impressed as it was so hot in the room.

I'm having a similar problem with wedding bands. My main stone is oval so most of the wedding bands don't sit flush with my engagement ring. I haven't decided on one yet but I think I'll get the one with the best fit.

Hey there! Just found your thread and read it ALL... I love all your choices and all your pics are great! I can't wait to read a TR when you return- as a married woman! Have the time of your life!! ;)

TS are...

Planet Hollywood
O'Hana's
The Grand Floridian Cafe
Victoria and Alberts
Les Chefs de France
Le Cellier
Beaches and Cream
Kona Cafe
Coral Reef
Boma
Chef Mickey's
California Grill
San Angel Inn (still debating this one)
Sci-Fi Dine-In
Raglan Road
Concourse Steakhouse
Artist's Point

We are staying 7 nights at CBR then 7 nights at AKL.

We have paid the deposit on our Disney Cruise Line 3 day cruise. We are getting picked up from AKL on the 30th of Aug:cheer2:

So, San Angel Inn is our favorite TS from our last trip and our only repeat on our upcoming trip if that helps! We loves Sci-Fi Dine-In... it was so much fun! We are also going to Coral Reef (and I have set up the diver package to suprise my boyfriend), OHanas (for the Charater breakfast), and Le Cellier!

We then come back and stay at Crowne Plaza Universal for 4 nights where we will do the Universal Parks.

I have stayed in the Crowne Plaza in White Plains, NY and in Philadelphia, PA- They were both wonderful! They are very tidy and have this fun "sleep better" theme! You will love it!

Here is what I have been doing the last few days.....

Well, eventually I chose my dress which was this one:

I may leave it sash free, I've decided to wait until June before I make any final decisions.

Gorgeous!!!

I have booked some of my ADR's

So far this is what I have:

Aug 16th O'Hana's 19.05
Aug 17th Citricos 12.15 and V & A 18.30 (Chef's Menu)
Aug 18th Les Chefs De France 12.00 and Le Cellier 18.30
Aug 19th Kona Cafe 08.30 and Kona Cafe 18.05
Aug 20th Coral Reef 19.30 (diver gonna hold up sign and have personalised menus, YAY!!)
Aug 21st Boma 19.30
Aug 22nd Chef Mickeys 09.00 and California Grill 20.00
Aug 23rd Kona Cafe 20.00
Aug 24th Boma 08.00
Aug 28th Concourse Steakhouse 19.30
Aug 29th Artist's Point 18.30

This is all I could book so far as apparently I can't book DTD unless it is exactly 180 days out:sad2: So I need to call back again as I have 4 more nights to book. I got everything I wanted so I am ecstatic:banana: There was only minor changes in times, like 5 or 10 min. Should you have the CM mention it on every booking that it is your honeymoon? She said she would note it at Chef Mickeys, because she said they usually do something but I would have thought it would just be mentioned throughout your whole reservations.
Also I am so glad I managed to get Citricos for lunch. As The GFC will be closed for lunch during July-October, Citricos have extended their opening hours and are serving lunch meals similar to The GFC menu:thumbsup2 Apparently it will only be 1TS credit for lunch for those that are on the DDP, how great is that!!!!! I will be wearing my wedding dress to both Citricos and V & A, I'm so excited:banana: :cheer2: :yay:

Everything sounds so great!

Tiggerific04 - How cool is that? I'm hoping to change my ADR to a later seating though. That is the day we go to Seaworld and I originally planned to go to Coral Reef at 20.30 but 18.30 was all they had left. I'm calling tomorrow to see if I can change it.

I will be sure to link my TR after we return so you can see the Diver pics from Coral Reef!

Just wanted to say you will love CBR! I've stayed there several times, most recently with DH when we first started dating. It was our first Disney trip together and it was very romantic

Great to here! My boyfriend and I are staying at CBR in almost 3 weeks!

Ok, I've been mucking about with my new digital camera and I managed to get some good pics of my ring, well at least they aren't blurry.
:thumbsup2

Again- so beautiful!

Your wedding will be just spectacular!

I love the first pirate costume! DF and I are going on the 18th as well, but I don't think we'll be dressing up :sad2:

Thank you ThinkTink75 for finding and reading my planning journal, it makes me so excited to write my TR, not that I'm wanting the honeymoon to end;) However the dress pic you posted was my first dress I paid the deposit on, I have since bought another dress, which I have also posted a pic of, it's a white halter neck dress which I absolutely love, the pic doesn't do it justice, and the back of it is gorgeous. It has a really long train, which is accented by white roses with flowing leaves. I am having the leaves outlines colored in silver and black. I am also having a black satin sash down to the floor. I will be sure to post pics when I go for my dress fitting the end of July:)

Erin - I am now going to the Pirate and Princess Party on the 21st of August. I just purchased tickets for the 3 of us to go. My mom and I will be dressed up in full pirate gear and Steven will likely wear a pirate shirt and bandana;)

Okay here are some more costumes that I like for the P & P Party. I would NOT be wearing fishnet tights, but I do love the dresses, you can get a longer skirt which is what I would definately get. I would love your opinions on which one is nicer. They are all very reasonably priced and they are from the UK, so at least the postage isn't too high. On the P&P Party night the plan is to go to California Grill at 5.30pm, eat there and get dressed in the bathroom or something as I don't think it would be allowed to be dressed in Pirate gear while eating at CG. Does anyone know if MK has lockers or something? I don't want to be carrying our clothes around all night!

Hi Summer,

I'm glad you decided to go to the PnPP. It is going to be a blast. I really liked thr first costume in your original post with costumes.

There are lockers at the front of MK (as you walk under the train station). You should be able to store your clothes there.

Only 7 more weeks! I am counting down the days!

I too love the first Pirate outfit you posted! Can I ask which website you saw that - I've been looking for aaages!! It's a shame we're off to the PPP on the 24th August or else we might have bumped into you!

Woop woop I think from your signature that you kicked butt at your weigh in - well done chick that is brilliant!!! :goodvibes  :woohoo: :yay: xx

Thanks

Yes, I managed to lose 4 pounds in 3 days so I'm really happy. The Atkins has always worked for me but I don't intend to stay on it in Disney, in fact within the last few weeks before I go, I'm going to slightly wean myself off it and back on to a healthier but still, lower in carb lifestyle. However in Disney, I refuse to diet, I can worry about that when I get home;)

Well girls, I'm really struggling with this AKL problem. If some of you don't know there is construction going on at AKL and many including me have been told by CM's that everyone checking in prior to Sept 1st are being moved. I called Disney on Sun and a nice CM said she would move me no problem, no extra charge to a resort of my chocie providing they had availability. When she tried to change the booking she couldn't due to my booking being made through a TA.
So on the phone i go to my TA and tell them my predicament. My tour operator however have said there is no construction in AKL, WHAT??? So they, at the moment are refusing to move me, if they do, they will charge me an extra $2000. I am now sitting and waiting to hear back from the tour operator again as I explained that this is my wedding/honeymoon and I didn't shell out $8000 to them to be mucked around. I KNOW there is construction and in our 2nd week we planned on relaxing a bit more at the hotel. The construction will be going on 9-5 and I didn't pay for that. I'm furious with the tour operator as apparently they haven't even contacted Disney to verify my info. Any ideas girls on what I can do. This is really stressing me out and I've been trying to get it sorted for a week now.
