Summer Park Hours

I am planning a trip to WDW at the end of June and I was checking the park hours and it says that all parks close at 9pm or earlier. Can this be right? I come from the west coast and Disneyland closes at 11p or 12a in the summer. Am I missing something?

History suggests they will extend park hours closer to the date and that those are effectively place holders. While its no guarantee, the 2016 operating hours might be a good guide.

Enjoy! WDW is a totally different, and wonderful in another way, animal than DL. With 4 parks you're pretty much assured that one will be open later

A good guide is to think of it this way:

Magic Kingdom will be 11 to 1am
Epcot will be 9pm hard every day: this doesn't change because of World Showcase - not enough international staff to keep them open later.
DHS will be between 9 and 10pm daily
Animal Kingdom will be between 9 and 11pm daily

Obviously things can change, but these are the anticipated hours, especially between Memorial Day weekend to the middle of July.

I agree they will be extended. It might not be as far as previous years, but they will be extended.

It will also be interesting to see the impact of Pandora opening at AK. Will they be expecting attendance in general to be up, allowing them to fully extend hours in all parks? Or will they cheat a little off the hours in the MK to pay for the extra hours at AK?

I think that there are just minimum operating hours that Disney needs to have to be able to run their nighttime shows. It doesn't get dark until 8:30/9pm so to run fantasmic/illuminations/wishes/rivers of light the parks will need to be closing at 9pm at a minimum.
