Summer Nighttastic....

I read that they will again be doing summer nightastic this year with the world of color at DCA and Fantasmic and Magical fireworks at DL.... It says they will run until the end of august.. Am i then correct to expect that they will not be offerings these shows for labor day week/weekend???? Just wondering what they've done in past years.

Correct. Last year, Summer Nightastic (and the entertainment / events that were part of it) was scheduled to end on August 23, 2009.

Now, that said...
There were troubles last summer with the new dragon in Fantasmic! and Disney extended Fantasmic! through September 7th, "Magical" fireworks were extended through Labor Day and continued after that on weekends until September 20th.

Last year I was there September 1-3 and Magical was still showing as was Fantasmic. My first day of my trip was the same day that Murphy the Dragon actually finally made his debut.

I think I was typing what "happened" vs. what was "scheduled" while you were posting.

I wonder if they're going to extend it again though... It almost doesn't make sense to change the fireworks show back to RDCT (even though that one is the best fireworks show!) because in October they will change it again to the Halloween version. I guess it all remains to be seen...

Fantasmic was actually extended til Jan. 3rd of this year, of course, probably bc of the delay of the dragon, but it'd be nice if the run would really last that long.

She meant that Fantasmic daily showings were extended in 2009 until Sept 7 when in typical years they go to weekend only in late August.

You are of course correct that Fantasmic continued being a regular show until Jan 3. On Jan 4 it was closed with all of the Rivers of America attractions.
