My wife and I are going on the DisUnplugged Backstage Magic Tour, and I have been trying to plot out a way to see the fireworks (I love fireworks - and Dumbo will fly!), Fantasmic and the Main Street Electrical Parade (yes, in my heart it's still on Main Street) in the two nights we're there. These are my three favorite things to see at the park. Whenever I need to cheer up, I listen to the Baroque Hoedown!

Where will you be working at the resort?

My husband and I are also going on the tour and I am SO excited to see the fireworks (and Dumbo flying) too! I look forward to meeting you!

I am also really excited, but I'm only going to have 1 night in the parks (2 days though), so I'm going to have to try and fight the crowds and see both in one night!

I'm SUPER excited for everything! Even though I'm sad that Dumbo won't be there for EP, I can't wait to see him fly in the fireworks! I recently saw my old Main Street EP Farewell Season that we converted to DVD & totally forgot what the Pinocchio & SW Mine float looked like. It'll be nice to see them again. Oh My Goodness, & Fantasmic, I'm super excited to see the new dragon! I just hope that there won't be any ducks in the river or they'll be cooked. Don't want that to happen. And hopefully my Tic-Toc will now get that codfish Hook!

I hope we can go! Mom said she'll think about it, so we don't know yet:)
I have a question, we want to buy these passes for our cousins out of state and was wondering if they check the ID's to get in or just to buy them...

SoCal residency is required to purchase them and use them.

They will check them to purchase; they might check them to get into the park; IDs are randomly checked.

If your cousins are under 18, though, it does not matter to use them.

ok, well lets jusy hope we will get lucky!

Can't wait to see it all! (But I'll have to, as my next trip to the Park isn't until August)

I just saw a video online of the new fireworks show; the flying Dumbo is so cute (and amazing! wow!).

I still haven't seen the Electrical Parade since the last year it was in Disneyland, so I am very much looking forward to that, as well.

OMG Yes! Dumbo is one of my favorite Disney characters and I'm going to love seeing that! Yes I agree, in my heart the parade is still on Main St. too, I wish it was put back there. I'm especially excited about Tinkerbell's new float leading the parade :tink:

I will either be working at Attractions or Photopass. Will find out June 18th :)

That actually made me lol. :rotfl:
I can't wait to see that dragon either! Up to 40ft tall, wowza!

I assume that the changes to Fantasmic! and Pixie Hollow are permanent correct?

Does the MSEP run only during the summer and will it stop completely after August 23rd as well?

I'm bummed I won't see the Magical fireworks since we're not going until September.

How exciting! Okay, you've got to set up a code word or wear something special on your costume (that's within the rules, of course), so DISers will know who you are.

On June 18 you have to let us know so we can say hello during the weekend of June 19 - 21 when a group of DISers will be at the park. We've got to spread some Pixie Dust your way!

We saw the new fireworks last night. It was cute I guess...just nothing compared to RDCT. It almost felt not as worked on, not as much effort put into it. Some of the sequences were good though and dumbo was a touching moment. Overall it was alright but I will be happy to have the old show back.

I'd love to do that! I'll find someway to have a "secret" code to let you know i'm a DISer :) That would be cool!

Yes, but remember they are running the "unofficial" shows right now, that is what they are for, to test and improve I would think. Have to test it somehow and someway then to just let it go on the official opening day and have something go wrong. I'm still extremely excited to see it!

I don't think it will be a problem to do all three in two nights. I'm going to try to get fireworks and Fantasmic! out of the way my first night there, per Hydroguy's excellent "see fireworks at your first possible opportunity" rule. On my last trip the fireworks only ran one out of the three (?) nights we were there, despite being scheduled for every night, so I think it is a very good rule. :)

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1699269 has a guide to the "ultimate Disneyland entertainment trifecta" if you scroll down to DangerMouse's post a little more than halfway down, for those who want to do all three. Will it still work with all the construction? Have any of the times changed?

From the video I saw, I thought the new fireworks looked great!

((SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS, stop reading if you don't want details))

The beginning seemed kind of slow (odd to see them promoting such old films, including one that's already used in Fantasmic...unless they're trying to sell more Pinocchio DVDs :confused3 ), but I liked the second half quite a bit, especially the pink/blue bit, which made me LOL! I thought the crowd (minus the APs perhaps ;) ) seemed entertained; I love to hear cheers and laughs of delight. But we'll see how it is in person. I loved RDCT but I did only see it once, so I'm not as fiercely loyal to it as a lot of folks here are.

That is good advice about seeing the fireworks the first night. Those pesky "high winds" can cause them to have to cancel the fireworks - after you've waited 20 minutes past the scheduled start time.

I watched a video of the "dress rehearsal" on Mouseplanet. The video wasn't great, but I think they'll be fun to watch in person!

Yes, I hope the winds calm down so it doesn't ruin the magic of the show, the winds lately are crazy. And I managed to keep from reading those spoilers Eeee-va, lol. It was hard, since my curiosity usually gets the best of me.

*slite-note: I got my role at the DLR, i'll be working merchandise, i'm happy. :)
