Summer Hours/Parade Times

I know its been mentioned before here, and even by me, that I remember the parks being open later in the summer than the hours posted for June/July - the thing is we remember the Main St. Elect Parade at 9 and again at 11 and every night - I have seen a parade schedule that has the new spectro parade at only 1 time and only a few night in the week, not every night - this may change my whole PS and park itinery! How reliable are the official posted times - anyone just back , even though summer hours are not in effect yet, only seen the parade for a few night in the week????

Hi,

The official postings are very reliable.... but that doesn't mean they won't change!

Keep checking back, WDW has been known to make changes to park hours and parade/fireworks times.

If you look at these historical hours you'll see that last July and August there were very few nights where Spectro ran twice.

We have not been since 2000, so alot has changed since then. and had been about every 3rd year before that and the night parade at MK was at 9 and 11 every night, and they were open until then every night, but I see for the last 3 years that has not been so - did 9/11 change that do you think????

Yes, a lot of changes happened in late 2001, among them were severe cutbacks in park hours. The hours have been gradually coming back, but some things have not, like the parks (MK especially) being open late all summer.
