What are the chances of securing a ressie at one of the deluxe hotels that is currently sold out. This would fall in the possible Summer Discount range of July 17th to July 22nd. I was told by the chat agent that WDW does hold a limited number of rooms at each hotel for their discounts. I'm just not sure if I should wait and try to get the one I want OR should I just book a moderate. :confused3

Thank you for your input!:wave2:

I can see WDW holding back some rooms for the bounce back deal. But I wonder if they would hold many back for a general public discount.

When some of the discounts came out last fall and early winter, certain rooms types went pretty fast. I always find it safer to book a room as soon as I have an idea of when I would like to go. It is easy to cancel or change later, especially if it is a room only reservation.

Well, when I was doing the online "chat" with an agent, she stated first that WDW does NOT hold rooms at all...then she mentioned that they will hold a small number of rooms to be available for a promotion. I guess I will wait a bit longer and see...just makes it a little nervewracking!:badpc:

Which resorts are they saying is sold out for that time period?? That seems very unlikely/surprising at this point.

That's what I thought...however, the Contemporary is sold out for anything other than tower views or club level/atrium. No standard or garden view. It just seems so EARLY for this to happen!:confused3

Well, needless to say that my original dates of July 17th to July 22nd looked very bleak for securing a Garden View or Standard room at the Contemporary. :rolleyes1 So after scouring flight times and pricing (SouthWest) and checking dates on Disney.com, I was able to change my flights (for no fee and for the exact same price I already paid) after I placed a "hold" on a Garden View room at the Contemporary for July 25th to July 30th. Which works just as well for us.:lovestruc

I can only imagine that perhaps it is the renovations causing the lower level rooms to be reserved so tightly this far out...:confused3 I know they go quickly, but this was ridiculous.

Keep in mind that the Contemporary is a convention hotel. Disney holds a number of rooms for each conference/convention and releases them after the booking period ends.

I always google my dates and enter search words like WDW, conference, resort name, mydisneymeeting, etc. I get some idea of what may be happening during my dates.

I agree Wood Nymph although I clearly didn't think of that!
I usually book over the phone while I am looking at flights and booking at the exact same time. I just don't know what happened, first the rooms were available then they were gone! :confused3

Luckily, I just switched my flights to align with the dates (within the next promo range) when the Contemporary has Garden View rooms available.

Thanks to everyone for their input!:flower3:
