We have a season pass to Davis Farm and will renew our Mystic Aquarium membership. There are 2 nearby zoos, sci center, hiking, etc. There is a place to swim 1mile from our house.

Those who will spend the summer at home, do you have use of a pool?

We're not planning on an amusement park this summer. We'll get to those in Oct when in FL.

We are planning a day trip to see caves.

Our list for day trips this summer include:

Battleship Cove, New Bedford, MA
Museum of Science, Boston
Swan Boats, Boston Common and lunch at Hard Rock Cafe
Duxbury Beach
New England Aquarium, Boston
The Kite Park, Newport, RI
Roger Williams Zoo, RI
Faneuil Hall to see the Mickey Statue Tour

So far our day trips will include the beach, the zoo, going downtown to see the Mickey Statues, and we're driving down to CA to see family and friends for a few days; on the way down we are going to a Wild Animal Park/Safari where you drive thru in your own car! No big vacations for us this summer; DH is going to Reno with his best friend next month. I'm going on a girl's trip to WDW for 5 days in October. We're hoping to go to DL next winter (Jan/Feb maybe??) and then Hawaii late next summer (I gotta change my countdown). Then again, DH is scheduled to be activated to Afghanistan for 1 year in 9/05...we may have to change Hawaii too, or at least just do it sooner!

We have a pool which we use a lot during the summer. As for day trips, we'll probably only go down the shore a few times.

I want to live somewhere fun! We are 8 hours from a beach, 10 hours from mountains. I could see caves or the St. Louis Arch in a four hour drive but that seems kind of far for a day trip. How frustrating! I used to live 30 mins away from Canada ( and lake Erie) I don't even have that anymore. I am depressed.

DH and I are going to leave the kids at home and spend the day at First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas. (No one knows this but me yet, but Canton is flea market heaven and I'm really looking forward to it.)

We have season passes for Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George, NY.

We have several weekend campouts planned with our Cub Scout Pack.

We also like to go to local Minor League Baseball.

Other possibilities include zoos, hiking trails and some local Historical sights as well as the Town Pool.

Maybe NYC weekend trip
White Mountain, NH
possibly a 2 day cruise to nowhere

We're going camping in Hershey.
And we always spend a weekend in Niagara Falls.

We will be spending lots of time boating, fishing, and swimming in the lakes and rivers around us.

We will probably take in a couple of baseball games of a local team.

And I think we are going to get bikes this summer so we will be checking out some trails around us. :)

The only day trip we are planning (well, I am planning ;) ) is a drive to to IKEA in the Chicago area. It's about 4 hours, but the closest to us!

I just asked to go to Six Flags NE for my birthday and we go to Davis Farmland also and to Roger Williams Park Zoo, but usually in the fall. We spend most of our summer weekends either in York Beach Maine, in laws place, or out in the Berkshires at Tanglewood, my parents' home.

Do you have a date for when the Mickey's are coming? I did know that they were coming to Boston, but didn't have a date. We saw them at WDW in January, but would love to see them again!.....Thanks for any information!.................P

We are just playing tourist here on the Cape.
Going out to eat, mini golf, fishing and relaxing by our pool.
I love the summer months. We don't have to drive very far to get anywhere during the summer. I try to make everyones appointments during the long off-season.
Doesn't sound like much of a vacation, but we are all together doing our most favorite things!

Considering the civil war battlefields of Antitem & Gettysburg; Harpers Ferry; Baltimore Zoo - we will be going to a couple of Orioles games since the boys are now members of the "dug out" club.

Two one day trips to Lancaster to shop (Once for the Lititz craft show and once for the outlets and shops), a day trip to Six Flags Great Adventure with my sons and their friends, a day trip to Longwood Gardens in Pa with my sisters and a day trip to the NJ State Aquarium with a trip across the river link to Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell (first time to do that in years) with my sisters. May do a day trip to NY with a friend from work. My sisters and I are trying to spend more time together doing fun things out of the house so there may be more day trips added! We did the Flower Show in Philadelphia last month and had a blast hanging out together all day so we want to keep doing that.

I have 5 girlfriends coming to visit me in Arkansas <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/423.gif' border=0></a>- most of them have never been in the state.

We are going to Blanchard Springs (like Carlsbad but smaller), Eureka Springs (very quaint little town in the hills), maybe Graceland (2 hour drive), to the lake, to some special gardens. Maybe I'll even take them to the casinos - I don't like to go but will take them if they want.

Branson is only a few miles from the Arkansas border, so I guess we could go to some shows up there. My sister says there's a law that you can't go to Branson unless you are at least 50. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/22/22_1_17.gif' border=0></a>

I am going to Newport, RI for two weeks in August as my real vacation. I don't do WDW in the summer. Of course the heat <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_1_12.gif' border=0></a>and humidity is just as bad in Newport except that there is NO a/c. I'm crazy.
