Here's the full schedule:

June 1: Ne-Yo

June 8: Big Time Rush

June 15: Gavin DeGraw

June 22: Earth, Wind & Fire

June 29: Adam Lambert

July 6: Kip Moore

I guess I'm stuck with the last two.

I thought Universal liked to cater to an older audience.:confused3

I think they're going for fun acts that hit somewhere in the middle (20's-40's), with a few outliers (Big Time Rush and Earth, Wind and Fire). If you want oldies, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Epcot are the places to go.

Earth Wind & Fire would be fun. The rest... meh.

There was a rumor of Linkin Park being there June 22 the week Transformers opens,I guess that was wrong.

Can someone tell me roughly what time the concert starts. I have reservations at Lombard's June 22 at 6pm for 9 people and want to make sure we have plenty of time to eat and won't have to rush over to see the concert. With 9 of us, it may take a while to get served.

The passholder newsletter I received yesterday states the Cinematic Spectacular show is after the concert so I'm thinking the concerts will start around 8:00PM.

LOL! Universal finally found a way to get me off Disney property ;) I haven't been to Universal in over 15 years, but I'll be doing it now for Adam Lambert :cool1: He is amazing live - his voice is out of this world and fantastic stage presence. There is a reason he toured in Europe with Queen last year to rave reviews.

Since it looks like a 2 day pass makes more sense than a 1 day (and I have a 14DS who loves thrill rides) we'll be leaving WDW for 2 days to check out Universal.

Any tips on "best" way to see the concert would be appreciated. I know that it is a large area where the crowds are packed in - standing only. How hard is it for short people to see (I am only 5'3" and DH is 5'8")? Any guess how early one needs to line up to be near the front?

I have no illusions about being in the very front - Adam has a lot of rabid fans who will be there first thing in the morning and will wait all day. It is "normal" for his fans to wait for hours or even days in freezing temps to get front row at general admission shows - they won't even blink at 10 hours in the Florida heat. He has been touring almost totally overseas for the last year (mostly Asia & Eastern Europe) so a lot of USA fans are planning to be there. Only a few USA shows have been announced (there is another 1 July 2nd in San Diego which was announced earlier, so that may slightly effect the number coming to Orlando - yes, they travel for shows - many even go overseas.)

Anyway, any tips on how/where to see the concert would be appreciated! :goodvibes

I would LOVE to see Adam in concert down there too. I saw him in concert here in Toronto and the audience was filled with people of all ages and tons of families.

The stage is raised and there are large screens, but you'll still need to camp out early to get anywhere near the front.

Here's a photo of the stage for you: http://www.attractionsmagazine.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/the-music-plaza.jpg

If you want to get anywhere near the stage, you'll need to wait at least 4-5 hours I would guess. The concert will begin around 8PM or so...since the Cinematic Spectacular show is after the concert. You're right...he'll bring in lots of fans that night and I'll probably wander over at some point too. Concerts are standing room only so you'll need to either get near the middle of the stage or near a video screen so you can see. The last concert I went to people were holding their phones in the air which made harder to see well and I'm 6'2" tall. It will be packed that night so good luck and have a blast!

are these concerts only till July... will there be any concerts in August....??
as some of us will only get out there till then and would love a chance to see this....

So none after July 6th? Summer doesn't start until june 21st--so summer concerts for only 3 weeks of summer:confused3

Correct...I wish they would expand the concert series in the summer but they haven't yet.

Nothing after July 6th.

What park does these concerts take place? If I will be only be there for 2 days (onsite guest), should I plan NOT to be there when Adam Lambert is? Do these concerts draw huge crowds?

The concerts take place at the Universal Music Plaza inside the Studios park. If you aren't a fan of Lambert, plan to leave in the early evening as the crowds will be huge for the concert.
