Summer break UK

My dh and are considering taking the kids to England and possibly Scotland during our summer break if we can afford the airline tickets. I was wondering when the kids get out of school where y’all are. Is it the same country wide or does it vary from area to area? Thanks.

England tend to be off from around July 20th to Early September. This varies by a few days across the country. Scotland is usually a bit earlier.

The schools in Scotland finish much earlier than the English schools. Each local authority in Scotland have slightly different term dates. One of the bigger authorities is Glasgow City Council where the schools stop on 26th June 2018 and the pupils return on 15th August 2018.
