Part 8 – Day 7 Friday 25th July – Our last use of APs doing EMH and moving to the campsite in Brittany

We woke up feeling rather sad today as it was our last day at DLP. It was also the last day we were going to use our APs as they ran out in 2 days time however we had certainly had our moneys worth out of them – 4 trips/21 days plus all the discounts. We had chosen not to renew them as we didn’t have enough sponsors to renew it for free and we didn’t think we would be doing as many trips next year to make it worth while renewing now even with the extra 6 months for free.
However we had almost 2 weeks ahead of us in Brittany so it didn’t feel as sad as if we were going straight home.

We wanted to leave DLP by 11 00 so had decided to get up early and go in for EMH then have breakfast and check out afterwards.
Once again we caught the bus and reached the park by 8.10. We walked (well skipped and danced) up mainstreet

then headed first for Peter Pan which we rode twice then did Dumbo, Carrousel, Pinochio and Buzz twice. DD wanted a tub of popcorn to take with her so we got one from near Buzz then walked for the last time down mainstreet.

We carried on our tradition of having to leave the park for the last time by going under the middle arch under the station and turning to wave and shout bye. As we turned to wave we realised there was not another person in sight.

We caught the bus back to Sequoia Lodge and had expected it to be empty – people aren’t usually heading back towards the hotel that time of day but there were other people on it who had just arrived I think.
We went in for breakfast – 5 minutes late but we got seated straight away. I thought we might have had to wait as we were late for our slot. After breakfast we had time to make one or last minute purchases from the Sequoia Lodge shop and tehnwent back to the room to finish packing. We loaded the car and then went back to the lobby to see which characters were there.
We had seen a notice saying both Winnie and Tigger would be there together so wanted to try and see them as you don’t usually see both together. They hadn’t yet arrived so DD joined the short queue and waited. First Tigger came then Winnie the Pooh followed.

It was a great end to the holiday.
We then got in the car and drove across to Brittany.

We had a fantastic time –we were so pleased we had added the extra 2 days on at the beginning of the holiday as we seemed to have so much time to do everything but had also spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the hotels as well. We had some brilliant meals and character interaction as well. We loved Sequoia Lodge and would definitely stay there again. I’ll post a short summary of the rest of our holiday in Brittany with some photos but that’s the end of the DLP part.

That seems a nice, easy way to end the DLP part of your holiday... Glad you enjoyed everything and got to do things differently to normal.

I will add, though, that those "last minute purchases" often end up being the route of our travel problems, as they tend to get us caught up in unplanned traffic or leave us with not enough travel time after DB demands an unplanned stop
