Hi Everyone.... We have just gotten the first week in May at Summer Bay for a week. It's just my hubby and me. We usually stay at Orange Lake, but got this week as a bonus vacation! There were only a few posts about it, has anyone been there recently? One person said they didn't like it, the others I found really did. And does anyone know of anything special going on down there this time of year? I've been there for the food and wine festival, and I've also been there for the Flower and Garden Festival, but they're at a different time of year. Thank you for your help! Barbara in Texas

I stayed in the old section of Summer Bay. The new section (Villas) seemed much nicer.

I’m also going the first week in May. A lot is happening that week. Scheduled performers at the American Garden Theatre in Epcot are Gary Puckett - April 28 - May 1, Dave Mason - May 2 – 5 and The Grass Roots starring original lead singer Rob Grill - May 6 – 9.

Check the official schedule for the Flower & Garden Festival closer to the event. In past years, they offered great lectures during the weekends by people like Paul James (Gardening by the Yard) and Roger Swain (The Victory Garden).

If you are a fan of the glass artist Dale Chihuly, his exhibit "Chihuly Across Florida" is at the Orlando Museum of Art until May 30.

I always go to Viva La Musica (May 1 & 2) at Seaworld for great Latin food and music.

I think Universal’s Citywalk is planing a Cinco De Mayo celebration on May 5.

It can be hot in May. The weather may be perfect for a day at one of the water parks.

Have a great time!

Wow...are you on the ball! I am impressed. I'm still finding my way around the board even though I've used it before. Thank you for all the information. Is that where you get it? Now we're in the process of finding a rent car... so far Jim said that flying into Orlando and getting the car there will be cheaper than going to Tampa. Have a wonderful time...maybe we'll see you there. Where will you be staying? Looks like you're freezing there in MI now....so I'll bet vacation plans are looking pretty good! Thanks again! Barbara

Deb Wills’ unofficial Disney site lists events at the World. Check it out at http://allearsnet.com/.

For cheap car rental, go to http://www.mousesavers.com. It lists many discount codes to try with various car rental companies. I can typically get a compact for around $119/week plus taxes.

I have no confirmed reservations yet but hope for a condo, preferably closer to Universal.

The weather here in Michigan has been terrible - very cloudy and cold. It is sure nice to look forward to a trip to such a beautiful place.
