Summer 2021?

While we all know the next few weeks/months are expected to be gravely challenging in many respects--and it is nothing to take lightly--I am trying to look ahead with some HOPE for summer 2021. I'd like to believe reports that indicate (largely) sufficient availability and implementation of vaccines between April and June. (I'm sure, however, someone(s) will be quick to post an alternative continued doom and gloom scenario that suggests we will be locked in this COVID universe into 2030 or later.) Perhaps I'm naive--I probably am--but I find myself day dreaming about a summer vacation at WDW in July that would include a more "stress free" and happy experience.

What's the summer WDW forecast in that regard?

I'm sure there's a thread that discusses this ad nauseam, I just couldn't find it--sorry.

Keep the faith, world...

Thanks!

I have no magic 8 ball but we went ahead and booked a trip for late May/early June. I feel comfortable with the protocols at the parks. We did decide to stay offsite in a house rental in order to distance as much as possible and use our own transportation.

At this point we need a vacation! Also, we decided to cancel our planned HS grad trip to London along with a British Isles cruise so this is DS's consolation prize.

Nobody can predict what Disney will be like next week, next month let alone 6 months from now. Honestly we went for a day in September- found it less stressful than normal Disney. We have a 5 day trip planned next month.

I went in October and felt no stress (though I did miss shows and fireworks) and I’m potentially contemplating a March birthday trip for myself (if Disney starts selling APs before then), so I’m not at all worried about next summer.

I predict somewhere between a man riding along the beach and finding a half buried Statue of Liberty and a world filled with peace and tranquility for all!

We had to cancel our trip in August 2020 and hoping to go August 2021. I'm hoping by that time our family will have the vaccine and they will still require masks at WDW. To me, that will be the safest situation as well as probably the lowest crowds (with the assumption that soon thereafter, the majority of people will have the vaccine and masks will no longer be required).

We were supposed to go to WDW in July 2020, but had to cancel. We currently have a reservation for July 2021. But...lately haven’t felt too optimistic about how things covid-related will be by then. We are thinking of canceling and rebooking (again) for 2022. We haven’t visited since 2014, and as much as it costs, we just want to be sure we get the full Disney World experience and hope that by 2022 everything will be back to normal!

This is similar to us. We had planned to go in Summer 2021 but had not booked yet due to all the uncertainties. At this point we are most likely going to go in Summer 2022. The last time we went was October 2018.
