Summer 2018 CBR vs CSR?

Looking at our 2018 plans and I am second guessing what to do!

We currently have plan to be at SSR end of October, however it will suit my son's school holiday to go during the summer and SSR is substantially more expensive.

Considering the construction plans for both, CBR and CSR would you consider staying at either next Summer?

Me? Probably not. If you do not think your stay will be negatively impacted by construction, the cost might be worth it. I think that a lot of people really don't notice or don't care if there are minor inconveniences, so why pay more? It turns out that my family does notice, and we found out the hard way even minor disruption is a pain for us.

I wouldn't stay at a resort having that much construction. I would stick with SSR or pick a different moderate hotel.

I am contemplating the same thing. I may wait to book to see how far along the renovations are by February and then make a decision. I don't want to be eating under a tent.

The only caution I have for this strategy is that there have been a lot of people who are booking these resorts because their rack rate is less than POR and POFQ, and they like the discounted food costs that are for the resort guest only. I would avoid the resorts, btu a lot of other people actually swapped their resort out for CBR to take advantage of a mod at that rate. WHo knows what next year will bring, but I woudl keep a close watch on how folks are faring in regards to getting their desired dates.

Why are these your three choices for next summer? Why aren't the Port Orleans resorts on your list?

I wouldn't stay at either next summer. Why not POR or POFQ?

I am planning for next April and decided to go with POR, a resort I have wanted to try for a while. I really liked Caribbean Beach when we stayed in a preferred room last year and I was tempted by Coronado with the new rooms but I think the construction plans I have read would detract from my enjoyment.

I figure, with several other great options I would rather spend my money on CBR and COR after construction is completed.

We are going again next June and CSR is my favorite resort. I will most likely stick with CSR, but I'll be watching the construction reports.

They are actually more expensive than SSR as SSR is on offer
