We've stayed at the Homewood Suites Lake Buena Vista and used their free shuttle on the days we didn't want to drive to the WDW parks. The hotel is just off Palm Parkway and is not too long a drive to Disney Springs only about 4 miles, maybe 15 minutes door to door with traffic lights (this was the week after Easter a couple years ago). VERY easy to get to/from WDW.
They do have two bedroom units (also 1 br and maybe studios). It's a nice place. It is not fancy, but clean and nice with a mostly family clientele. The beds were comfortable, our room was quiet (over looked the pool, not the freeway). The included breakfast was good. The pool area is nice. The laundry facility was good. Staff very helpful and seemed to like working there. If we don't stay onsite on our next trip, this is where we will be.
The shuttle service was fine, no complaints. We knew when we booked the hotel that the shuttles only went a few specific times to/from the parks each day, and only to certain parks (then we'd transfer to Disney transportation). So we had to be aware of that, know where we were going and give ourselves plenty of time to get there.
The drivers were friendly in our experience and we never felt nervous about their driving, lol. It was a shared shuttle with another one or two of the adjacent properties. I remember we had to let the front desk know the night before if we planned to take the shuttle in the morning or evening the following day. Once or twice we went to a resort over by Sea World to pick some folks up, but that wasn't every trip. And we were dropped off first on the return if people from the Sea World hotel were on the bus.
