Suites / Concierge question

Does booking a suite at a deluxe come with concierge privilages?

We just stayed in a 2 bdrm concierge suite at the GF and I believe all of their suites ARE concierge. And for the price you pay for a suite, you deserve concierge!

Needless to say, it was really nice--we loved it.

In which building was your suite located? At the moment, it appears that my reservation is in one of the lodging buildings, not the main building.

...I think we crossed messages on another post...we're the ones who stayed in the SugarLoaf lodge building. Much quieter than the main building, we really loved it! (And if you need anything from the main building, it is a 2 minute walk there--no problem!)

We are going to AKL. Is the suite/concierge duplicit there as well?

Peter Pirate, I'm one of those folks who have stayed in WDW suites that not always came with concierge privileges (one of my two-bedroom suites at the Grand Floridian did not have concierge privileges even though we were on the Grand Plan at the time; go figure). For the past couple of years, however, the suites I have stayed in have all had concierge privileges. That said, all of us here on the Dis know that everything in WDW is subject to change without prior notice.

Since you asked about the AKL, both my one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites had concierge privileges. The AKL is a wonderful resort and will always hold a very special place in my heart (we stayed there for Opening Week and my favorite WDW Cast Member works there). I hope you have a wonderful stay at the AKL.

Thanks Janet and everyone else.

We've stayed at the AKL 11 times now, concierge once but never a suite.

We are now taking care of my ailing father (alzheimers) and mother (lung cancer) and feel a trip to AKL would be enjoyable to both but it seems a suite and the offerings of concierge would aid us in what will undoubtedly be a more stressful Disney trip than we're used to.

I think the AKL suites do have concierge with them.

When I stayed in a suite at the AKL concierge was included.

I think sometimes there is confusion because it's my understanding that the suites at WL do not include CL.

The deluxe rooms (aka junior suites) at WL do not include concierge.

The honeymoon suites, the Vice-Presidential and the Presidential suites at WL DO include concierge service as they are located on the concierge floor.

I would like to make a suggestion. You should make your reservations through the WDW Resort Special Reservations Line. These CMs are the best trained, most experienced CMs that CRO has to offer. The number is (407) 939-7807.

With all of the medical problems with your parents, these CMs can make special arrangements for your party. They can guarantee non-smoking, near the CL. etc. They can also make PSs with special arrangements to accomodate your parents.

I used this line for our last trip. My MIL had a stroke in Sept. and they were wonderful to work with on our reservations. These reservations were given priority by the room assigners. We were very pleased with the experience.

Peter Pirate, one of my suite stays at the AKL included my parents. I thought they would enjoy staying in a suite and relaxing in the lounge. I was correct -- they had a wonderful time. And they even got to meet my favorite WDW Cast Member one day before I joined up with them in the lounge. It just doesn't get any better than that.

You are a true AKL professional (11 times? Wow, I'm jealous!) and you obviously are a wonderful child to your parents. I think the suite stay sounds like a perfect way to make things even more ~magical~ than they already will be. Have a wonderful time. And take lots of pictures to share with us upon your return. I can never see enough photos of the Animal Kingdom Lodge and people enjoying their vacations there.
