Found a good deal on suites at Buena Vista Palace ( Wyndhams) at DTD. Can't find any pics of it. Anyone stayed here before?

Thanks

Try on www.expedia.com or tripadvisor...funny you post this I was just looking at it on the expedia site looks nice.

These are big, comfortable rooms. Two queen beds, or a king. 2 bathrooms, one has shower and a tub. Mind you, this is a nice 3 1/2 star hotel. We will be staying there Dec 29th through Jan 10th., and we have stayed there 3 other times because of the location, 5 minute walk to DTD. In general, I think you will be impressed with the place. Enjoy!!! :smooth:

Just be aware that this is no longer a Wyndham. It is now owned by LXR Resorts, which plans to re-transform it into a luxury hotel. (It has really been allowed to go downhill over the years.) I understand they will begin a major renovation beginning sometime in January. The phrase "gutting it out" was used by the person who told me about this. So depending on when you're going, you might want to call and make sure you won't be in the middle of a construction zone during your stay.

I'm going next year and I have found a site with loads of photos. I can't post a link so I'll PM you the link. :)

My husband and I stayed in a suite on our wedding night this past April. We had no problems at all! Beautiful room, big comfortable bed, two bathrooms, two tvs. Enjoy!

The hotel is still listed in the Wyndham website, under their new name. I suspect you have advance information that the Wyndham affiliation won't be renewed when the contract is up.

No, it really ISN'T a Wyndham already, and you don't get the Wyndham By Request benefits if you stay there, etc. However, for some odd reason they are still selling rooms through the Wyndham site. If you look at LXR's site, they list the hotel as one of theirs, but send you to the Wyndham site to book. The booking situation must be in transition for some reason.

Just to back up Mary...
I made a request to add my Thankgsgiving weekend reservation into my Wyndham By Request, and received following email from Buena Vista Palace.

Thank you for contacting the Buena Vista Palace. As you may or may not
know, the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa was recently sold and is no longer
a Wyndham affiliated resort. We are now Buena Vista Palace. It is
important that you know that effective September 31, we no longer
participate in the Wyndham ByRequest program as we are independently
operated and no longer participant in any of the Wyndham Programs. We do
apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you.

An investment company actually bought the entire Wyndham hotel chain. The better properties are being branded LXE and the company sold off the Wyndham brand name and the lesser properties to Cendant

Not sure why they don't just give the guests the Wyndham by Request benefits during the transition. What can a small bottle of wine or small fruit basket cost?

I should have know your information was more current than the web.
