Suite Hotels

Hi all,

Please recommend a hotel that offers two room suites. I've been checking out the Hyatt OC as it has kids' suites. We are a party of 4, with one 2 year old toddler and an infant...so looking for a room with two sleeping areas but trying to keep costs down. Ideally would like something that has actual beds in both areas (hence the kids' suites), but could maybe deal with a sofa bed...or is that asking for trouble?

We tried a weekend trip in a normal hotel room and getting both of the little ones to sleep at a decent hour was near impossible for us!

Dedicated shuttles are a plus.

Hi there

We have stayed at several suites near Disneyland. Some that I would suggest checking that have had 2 room suites would be:

**Staybridge on Manchester. We have had a 2 room that has a kitchen area, sofa bed as well as 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. They have 1 king and the other has 2 queens. They also serve a nice hot breakfast with 2 hot items, make your own waffles, assorted sereals, yogurt, fruit, danish, milk, juice coffee. They also have a light :reception in the evening with a light meal and soda/ beer and wine.

**Residence Inn Garden Grove. Same kind of amenities as the staybridge as far as breakfast( much larger variety 2 kinds of eggs, sausage/bacon/french toast/waffles/hashbrowns/fruit/yogurt/cereals) They have rooms that have a kitchen, sofa sleeper 2 seperate sleeping rooms, one with a queen the other with bunks or twins.

**Portofino Near Katella and Harbor. They have kids suites with the main room having King bed the kids suite being seperated with a french door. The kids section has bunk beds and a sleeper sofa. They do not offer a breakfast.

None of the above have direct shuttles but so have the ART system.

I've stayed at Peacock Suites and Doubletree Suites. I really like DS...very nice rooms, comfortable beds, spacious living area. The other suite hotel that gets good reviews is Homewood Suites. The downside to all these properties is that they are about a mile away from the parks, so you will probably need to use the shuttle.

We booked the Park Vue Inn with a two room queen suite. This motel is directly across from the DLR walkway, 5 min. walk to the gates, is what I'm told. Rates are the cheapest I've found for a motel this close, plus no resort or parking fees. This suite has one queen in one separate bedroom and two queens in another with one bathroom. Microwave and fridge also. Check out the various floor plans for rooms/suites on their website. Don't be discouraged if you can't get the room you want for your dates. We booked our trip in April and only queens were available. I kept checking back and we got the suites we wanted at the end of May.

Nothing fancy but we had good experiences with the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites the last two times we stayed there.

Residence Inn Maingate on Clementine. Its our go to place.

Also, Carousel Inn and Suites. They have a Kids' suite and a Resort Suite, both fit your needs.

Our family of 4 stayed at The Homewood Suites in May, and loved it. It was a 2 room suite, one room with 2 queen beds and another that was a lving room and kitchen that had a sofa bed.
It is a mile from the parks, but the shuttle(small fee) was great, and ran every 1/2 hour. They also offered a free, daily hot b-fast, which was really nice and a huge $$ saver. They also offer a free hot dinner, M-TH, along with beer and wine.
The pool area was nice, and everything was really clean. There is a Target right across the street, as well as several restaurants close by.

A few year ago, we stayed at The Portafino, and had a kids suite. The set up of the room was great, but I thought that the hotel was a bit run down, and I probably would not stay again.

I too am looking for a suite, preferably with 2 bedrooms.

The Grand Californian CAN'T be beat, IMHO.

Our DVC villa has 1 or 2 bedrroms, plus a sleeper sofa AND murphy bed in the main living area. We have 5 in our family, and the one bedroom villa is perfect. The 1 bedroom villa also has a real kitchen, in-room laundry and 2 bathrooms.

You can "rent" DVC villas from members, check out other parts of this site... the ads are usually in the "DVC" section in the top links bar.

Having DCA, literally, as a hotel entrance makes a HUGE difference. Grizzly Rapids & Soarin' Over California are less than 5 minutes away! It's easy to get to DL too. We take the monorail back or sometimes just walk the 300 yds to our hotel.... depending on what part of the park we're at when we decide we need to take a quick break.

Being 15-30 mins from your room & a real kitchen is a lifesaver for young families! Plus being able to cook your own meals, should you choose to do so, is cheaper and certainly healthier than always dining out!
