Hi,

I am new to the site and I am looking to plan a Disney Vacation in 2022 but the information is overwhelming! I have not been to Disney or Florida since I was a child.

I have done a bit of research and I know that for what we are looking for and our budget that a onsite property will not cut it.

I am hoping some may have some suggestions!

  • I am looking for a suite hotel so that my husband and I have separate space from the kids when they are asleep. Ideally a two bedroom suite with some sort of kitchen
  • Activities suited for a four and seven year on site that would allow us to enjoy time spent at the resort,
  • A resort that isn't too noisy. Not sure if that is a thing? :P

I appreciate all of your help and input!

Look at timeshare rentals on www.Redweek.com and Timeshare Users Group https://tug2.com/timeshare-rentals/default.aspx. You could find a 2-bedroom with full kitchen and in-room laundry in a TS resort near WDW. I can recommend Wyndham Bonnet Creek, Marriott (several near WDW), Sheraton Vistana Village, and Silver Lake - check reviews on TripAdvisor.

Edited to add - I forgot Orange Lake! And of course there are houses/townhouses to rent in Windsor Hills.

Agree with Carolyn ... Bonnet Creek is our favorite and there are no negatives there. Location is prime and it is our first choice. We've also stayed at a few of the Marriotts, have two booked later this year, we have stayed at Sheraton Vistana Resort but the Village looks very nice. I don't know about Silver Lake. These are all "timeshare" condo communities so not only amenities but has organized activities. Real plus will be finding 2 bedrooms, a FULL kitchen and in unit laundry.

We often stay in hotel suites but there are few two bedroom, and hotels won't have activities.

Thank you for that. I have been looking into WBC and the Marriott Harbour Lake but it looks like (I am Canadian) that the Marriott would be a few hundred more and I am not sure if one or the other are better!

If you will spend a lot of time at WDW parks, WBC location can’t be beat. Legally speaking it’s not on Disney property, but it definitely feels like it. Harbour Lake is farther away but the Marriott Imperial Palms, Sabal Palms and Royal Palms are directly across I-4 from WDW and a very quick, easy drive to the parks. And thanks to @HopperFan, I realized I meant to say Sheraton Vistana Resort, which is closer to WDW than Vistana Village, but both are nice.
BTW if you’re considering WBC, check out this thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/the-we-loooooove-bonnet-creek-thread-part-4.3366139/. The first page or so has the basics, the most recent pages are obviously more current.

Try checking out Liki Tiki Resort. It's close to WDW, has a water park with 3 slides, 1 is pretty tall and a couple of smaller ones for the little kids and is very nice. The 2 BR has a lot of space and even a large jacuzzi tub to soak in. I booked it for March for my 3rd stay there and have never been disappointed. The best price for it that I've found has always been on Booking.com, but you can usually find it on other sites as well. It is usually a little cheaper than some of the other, more popular places, but just as nice! There is a 19.95/night charge added on for the use of the facilities, but I've yet to find a condo/resort that doesn't have an extra fee, some are MUCH higher than Liki Tiki.

I REALLY enjoyed the Vistiana Villages - and they've had great rates for Bonvoy Members - a 1 Bedroom was $111 a night for March (the 2 bedrooms weren't that much more). It's about a 10 minute drive to the parks

Try David's Vacation Rentals to stay on site at a Disney vacation Club Villa for easy access to parks and great accommodations. We have been dealing with them for years, super reliable and great deals. https://dvcrequest.com/

I would suggest investigating Floridays Resort. They have 2 and 3 bedroom suites with full kitchens and in-suite laundry. There is a wonderful pool area (main and a quiet one). We live local to WDW and will sometimes just stay in these suites as a staycation and always have a great experience.

There are several brand new suite hotels at the Flamingo Crossings location which is at the western gate to the Disney property. We have been staying at the Towneplace and Fairhill that have been there for about five years now, but there is now a Home2 and Homewood Suites (Hilton properties) at the same location opening this month as well as 2 additional Marriott properties opening in May. Homewood has a nice arrangement in a 1br with bunk beds in a separate area, or there are 2 br at the Towneplace. All have kitchen areas with full size refrigerators.

These properties are significantly less expensive than others in the same chain that are in locations on the more easterly side. We are trying the Home2 this week in a 1br for $93/nt and that includes free parking, free breakfast, and all the hotels have very pleasant pool areas and have been quiet, even with large cheerleading groups a few times that we've been there at the same time.
