This hotel has very great rates til the end of the year. One bedroom suites with nice kitchen and living area. Follow this link and it gives you the discounted rate. 67 dollars plus tax. There are cheaper rooms as well with microfridge for around 50 dollars. I don't know how long these room rates will last. Just wanted to help out others the way everyone has helped me.
This use to be a holiday inn. The address is 8214 Universal blvd. This is near the corner of universal blvd. and sandlake rd.
This is one of my preferred hotels when staying off site to go to Universal.

The hotel is nice, the prices are decent, located in nice area. If I was doing a budget vacation I would definitely stay here. It is not within walking distance but they do offer a shuttle to the parks or at least they did. do a search on map quest for your self to see if it is close enough to universal. 8214 universal blvd.
