Suitcase question

Well after the mess United Airlines made of my suitcase I decided that it was time to buy a couple of new suitcases. I've always bought fairly inexpensive (cheap) suitcases and this time I wanted something a bit better.
Zellers had a 75% off today and an extra 10% if you applied for their master card.
I've decided to start taking my suitcases on board as carry-ons-cheaper and safer for me.
I found two 19 inch Via Rail Expandable teal (charcoal grey) suitcases. Each was $230.00. I paid $50.00 each for them. I love them and can't wait to use them. One of the things we've found is staying at DVC we can just wash mid week and not pack as much stuff.

So my question is can the suitcases be treated with scotch guard ?

I've treated so many different things with Scotchguard. I don't see why suitcases couldn't be treated too. Sometimes the fabric gets a little darker in colour when you spray it on.
