Suitcase Question

There are 5 of us going, all 15 and over. I am sure we can fit everything in 5 carry on suitcases, but I am worried about bringing souviners home. Not sure we would have much room. Do you think it would be worth checking 1 bag? There wouldn't be much in it going down, but would probably be full coming back. Was thinking we could each put clothes in the checked bag, except for 1 outfit and swimsuit or something like that. I think this may work better, I could put my cpap in my carry on instead of having two bags to carry around.

Depending on how much the airline charges for a checked bag, it could be worth it. We usually pack some breakfast type foods (granola bars, bagels, peanut butter crackers, etc) in our checked bag. Plus you could put all of your liquids & gels (shampoo, body wash. lotions, sunscreen, etc) in the checked bag and not have to mess with it in your carry on. For the trip home, the food is gone so that leaves room for other stuff.

The other thing we do sometimes is to pack an empty duffle bag in a carryon on the way to Disney, then check the duffle bag full of laundry coming home. This clears space in our carry on for our souvenirs (and I don't worry that our souvenirs will disappear from the checked bag, our laundry has never disappeared when we check it :rotfl:). That way you only have to pay to check a bag one way.

We are flying Airtran, so the fee would be $20 each way. I think I will check 1 bag, there are more pros then cons at this point lol

If you have room in one of the carryon's, roll up a big duffle bag. Then, for the flight home, you can put your laundry in it and check just the one bag. That's what I do if going with carryons only. I always need just one more bag for the flight home. AFter having to buy 3 bags, on three different trips, I now take that rolled up duffle bag...just in case.
Be sure to pack light clothes and perhaps plan on doing one load of laundry while at a pool. That really helps cut down on packing.

We are going in August, we are each taking 3 outfits and will be doing laundry 1 day. I am thinking about taking a duffle bag

We are planning our first trip to WDW . We are spending 6 nights BWI and 4 night WL. I would love to travel light. However we will need park clothing and dinner clothing ( we are doing deluxe dining plan so hope to do a signature restaurant each night). Do all the resorts offer laundry facilities? Sorry, a bit off topic.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, all resorts have laundry facilities, they are normally close to the pools

It might not help depending on your situation but we always pack older clothes that we really don't care about anymore. Stuff that will not fit the kids when summer rolls around etc. We wear them on vacation. Trash them before coming home to make room for the new stuff.

Ditto what others have said...check 1 bag. OR put an empty duffle bag in one of the carry-ons. :D
