Isn't fair. My friend Bill just killed himself. I can't believe it... he came to our graduation... he came to Casey's party. We talked about music. He's the only other person I've ever met who likes Muse. (he was impressed with my taste in music... the fact that I've even heard of Rage Against the Machine) We discussed emo hairstyles, I remember that. He was only 16. He would have been a junior next year.
His mother... oh, God, his mother. She's one of the lovliest ladies I've ever met, and she's a teacher at the school I just graduated from -- the school he graduated from. And he has a little sister, Grace. She's such a sweet girl, I can't imagine what she's going through if I'm bawling my eyes out right now. Everyone got a little annoyed with Bill now and then, because of his occasionally politically incorrect comments or opinions. Bill was one to always voice his opinions. He hated Bush. He was pretty much an idol at my school... some bands were considered "Bill bands."
Why didn't I see this coming?
Could I have done anything to help if I knew?

Bill was an atheist. His favorite song was Thoughts of a Dying Atheist by Muse.

And, I can admit it now, I suppose... I had a little crush on him.

dear i'm so sorry. There is nothing i can really do but i hope that eventually you can get through this. Suicide isn't cool. Its not the answer for problems. Talk to his parents. Find out what caused this. Go to greif counsling if you need to..

ive been through a lot of death and i've been through a lot of suicide and attempted suicides for someone at my age.

i can speak from experience and tell you that bill did not do what he did to hurt anyone. bill didn't know anyone was really there for him, the way you have described so many as being.

now, as to the 'could i have done anything' question. thats the million dollar question on everyones mind. and the answer is:
no.

bill saw this as his only way out, and he probably wouldn't have believed anyone who said otherwise.

he seems to have been depressed from what you've said.

just pray. thats all you can do. pray for everyone to find some sort of closure. and pray that bill is happy wherever he is.

I am so deeply sorry for this loss. You had nothing to do with his decision. He didn't want to hurt anyone he knew, but he didn't really understand what he was doing to those around him. I can't imagine what you're going through, or his family either, but I'm praying for you all to have peace, forgiveness and love for eachother, to be there for one another at a time as this.

God Bless.

Ohhh that is sad.
I feel so bad for you.
I hope you feel better.

aww, i am so sorry for your loss. he was probably a great guy. whatever you do, dont blame it on yourself. we dont need another suicide.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I think your friend did not intend for his actions to make you feel bad, or hurt anyone. Those that commit or attempt suicide generally do not want to listen to reason, so please do not beat yourself up over what you think you could've done to help him or prevent this.

He and his family are in my thoughts.

Thanks guys...
I remember this one time at the fair, he sat next to me, and, well, he got motion sickness and threw up all over my leg.
I didn't forgive him for a month. I was insanely mad at him.
I never let him live it down :l

I'm really sorry.
But you can't focus on the bad such as how you didn't forgive him, focus on the good and all the memories yall had.
Bill is in a better place now, and is def. watching over you and his family and friends.

I'll keep you and his family and him in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry
Don't blame yourself.
In the end, it was his decision, and you have to accept it as that.

OMG I'm so sorry! You can't blame yourself for his actions either. You could never have seen this coming even if he seemed likely to do it u had no clue when so there was nothing u could have done. I will keep you and his family in my prayers.

i'm sorry. I hope you feel better and prayers to his family.

That's horrible. I see no reason that he would kill himself based on what you said.
Obviously, you haven't met me, because I like Muse and RATM.
Luckily, I havent had anyone in my life commit suicide. I just don't know how i'd handle it.

I don't want to pretend that I know what your feeling and how his family are feeling, because I just can't imagine the pain.

My thoughts are with you and his family and friends

Aww AA, I'm so sorry
Like others have said, you have to accept it wasn't your fault- OH NO THERE'S A BIG BLACK FLY IN THE KITCHEN GET IT OUT GET IT OUT!

Oops, uhm. Yeah. My bad...

But anyways, just pray.
It's the best you can do for him now.

AA... I'm here to talk. And if it makes you feel better... maybe I am a bit of a CullClone.
