Robert Smith lived down the road from me a while ago, they had a recording studio there, he used to turn up in the local traditional white hart hotel with his hair all skew whiff and wonky make up!! The locals thought Satan had arrived
Great music BTW, also loved 'Olivers Army' Elvis Costello

My first concert was Chic - DH took me to see them for my 16th birthday, at B'ham Odeon, 1980. Best concert - Foo Fighters at Bham NEC- Dec 2005; and 2nd -Duran duran at NEC a couple of years ago, though many years ago I'd had said any of the 12 or so OMD concerts I went to (especially the one where I met Andy McCluskey and got his autograph at Hammersmith Odeon - talk about 'walking on air'!!). Worst concert - Bauhaus at B'ham Odeon in the early 80's - they walked off half way through cos they didn't like the audience! Loudest concerts - Motorhead and Accept, in the early 80's (spent most of those two concerts in the bar cos they were so loud!)
