Hi,

My husband and I will be leaving Edmonton, AB on Sept. 25th. We will be traveling in our motorhome. We are hoping to travel a few hours on the Friday and most of the day on Sat. We need to be in Salt Lake city by 1:00 pm on Sunday for the circus. We are hoping to make it to Anaheim by Monday afternoon. .

We have been debating between the Anaheim RV Resort or the Anaheim Harbour RV park. The reviews seem to be better for the Anaheim RV Resort park and I can atleast see pictures of it online. The Harbour Rv park is closer and a bit more affordable.

I was thinking of a 2 day park hopper plus the Halloween party. I've read varying opinions on the Halloween party but I really want to experience it. I also thought of a 3 day park hopper plus the party but I wasn't sure where I would us the extra day. We would like to fit in WOC, Fantasmic, Paint the Night and Halloween Screams. I think I got all of them. :)

I was thinking of the following schedule.

Monday - arrive in the afternoon, go to Downtown Disney and go out for supper somewhere. I think we'll be tired from travelling so we'll have an early night.

Tuesday - be at Disney for opening and spend the day/evening there.

Wednesday - Mickey's Halloween Party

Thursday - Be at Disney for opening and spend the day/evening there.

Friday - rent a car either from Downtown Disney or somewhere close by it sounds like Costco has good deals. We'd like to do some local shopping and go to the Halloween Party at Knott's Berry Farm.

Saturday - We could either take the car back or keep it for another day and do some more local sightseeing.

Sunday - start the trip towards home. we don't need to be home until Oct. 11th so I'd like to take our time and I'd love to hear about anything to see on the way home to Edmonton.

I'd love any feedback on my plans. I know this all seems last minute but I've been waiting for the windshield be be fixed in my motorhome for a few months and it's just happening now.

Thanks for reading this novel.

Halloween Screams (fireworks) is only presented during MHP. So the only way to see the full show is to attend one of the MHP. F! is typically only presented on Fri, Sat, and Sun during the non-peak season, but not on the nights when there is a MHP. Disneyland Forever is the new fireworks show the debuted for the 60th Anniversary. It will be presented nightly during HalloweenTime (except on nights when there is a MHP). WoC is presented nightly. PtN is also going to be presented nightly during HalloweenTime, but on nights when there is a MHP, it'll be part of that event.

It's worth noting that Gay Days is slated for October 2 to 4. It is one of the largest (if not the largest) unofficial events at DLR. So if you do opt to visit the parks on those days, the parks are likely to be fairly busy.

If you like fireworks shows, I would try to see Disneyland Forever as early in your trip as possible. Fireworks at DL can be cancelled due to weather (usually high winds in the upper elevations, so you can't necessarily feel them at ground level), so it's usually best to try and see the show as early as possible in your trip. That way, if they are cancelled, you have "fallback" nights.

If you aren't staying in the parks for Sunday evening, then Saturday evening is going to be your only chance to see F! if you're interested in that. Given that it's Gay Days weekend, I would consider looking into one of the dining packages (Blue Bayou or RBT) to insure a good view. Otherwise, make sure to grab a FP fairly early in the day. Mad T Party has also dropped down to a weekends only schedule (Fri to Sun), so if you want to see that, you'll need to stop by on either Friday or Saturday evening.

I really enjoy Mickey's Halloween Party at DL. I've been going for the last several yars and have written up fairly detailed (and picture heavy) reports. You can find them in my Halloween Trip Report thread. There are some changes this year (e.g., no Halloween Calvacade), but other things are likely to re-appear (e.g., Halloween Screams Fireworks). There will be two parties before you go (9/25 and 9/28), so I would check out the Disboard after those dates to see if folks have posted party review or tips. There should be some in HalloweenTime SuperThread, in various Dis'ers trip reports, and probably a few in other locations. The party ticket will allow you enter DL three hours before the start of the party (so at 3:00 pm on a night when the party starts at 6:00 pm). Usually the overlap period is fairly busy.

The only other thing that comes to mind is that you're currently slated to visit the parks on Tuesday and Thursday, both of which are DL's MM/EMH morning. So by the time you are able to enter the parks, the attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will already have lines (most notably, Peter Pan and Space Mountain). DL's MM/EMH mornings are usually Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. DCA has EMH (on-site guests only) on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday usually. DCA's EMH impacts RSR and TSMM primarily.

If you do plan on attending MHP, buy your tickets now. 5 nights have already sold out.

I was just going to say the same thing. Don't wait to get tickets. The tickets have already been on sale since July, and at some point very soon there will probably be a wave of sellouts in rapid succession (which usually seems to be the case each year).

Join us in the Halloween Time at DLR Superthread if you get a chance -- http://www.disboards.com/threads/ha...erthread-4-5-mhp-nights-now-sold-out.3270919/. You don't have to read the whole thread, but the posts on page 1 have a lot of info and you can always jump in anytime and ask questions.
