Hi
in a few weeks time I plan on visiting Islands of Adventure for a once in a lifetime trip. I say that sincerely. I don't think I'll ever get the chance to come back again.

I have 1 full day and possibly the second morning, but that would just be a bonus.

I'm 40, I love adrenelin rides - for my big birthday last year I took the day off work and a buddy and I rode the good coasters at Alton Towers in the UK just because you should before its too late

I'm also a bit of a film and comic geek and thats where my problems start.
I've been told that Universal Studios is more about the films and I of A about the comics and the rides are "more extreme"

So, I bow to your knowledge.

How should I spend ONE DAY in the parks on my own, getting the best out the day? I will happily use the single rider queues where possible or invest in any fastpass/expresslane ticket if it gets more done in ONE DAY.

What should I try and stop to see and whats to be avoided?

Are you interested in the WWoHP? Will you be staying on site? It depends.

If you are not there for rope drop I would hit all the major rides. Hulk, Spiderman, Jurassic Park, Water rides, Dragon Challenge, Forbidden Journey.

No Universal Studios? If not, after you have gone through everything and have another go at Hulk (I'm sure you will - all in single rider) then you can look around Marvel Island (It's awesome).

I love extreme rides, I hear Busch Gardens is the place I need to go! Haven't been there in 22 years...
I have traveled by myself and my day revolves around all the rollercoasters and extreme rides....

Could you tell us what date you will be here? The day of week will change your plan of attack! pirate:

If it's a once-in-a-lifetime trip, I would get the park-to-park pass and go to Universal Studios just to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit a few times. There's a single rider line, usually, and it's relatively close to the entrance to the park.

It's also close to the Mummy, another great ride worth doing as long as you're there.

Since the coasters are so important to you, I think it's very important even with limited time to make sure you do the extra wait for the front-row seat in Hulk and both coasters of Dueling Dragons. These are great rides from any row... but they are on a hole 'nother level (yes, the H-N-L!) when you experience them from the front.
