Okay, I know that many of you are very creative. I am in the process of getting together a package for a family that is traveling to WDW next month. There are 4 children (ages 16, 13, 12 and 5) and the 16 y/o has Muscular Dystrophy and this will likely be his final trip.

On to my need for your creativeness--I have purchased some photo albums/autograph books for each child, and I have some extra lanyards that I am going to put pins on. I got 3 pins for each child to trade from the Disney Store tonight. I would like to do up a creative package for each child and would like to put more in it for them than just the book and lanyard with a couple of pins.

Can you all offer some suggestions for some inexpensive items to add to the package for the kids? Anything for Mom & Dad? Creative ways to present the package? Suggestions please!

I thank all of you in advance for any suggestions you can offer to me. I have never done anything like this before and want to make it special for all involved.

Sue Ellen - just a few suggestions:
1. throw away cameras - some are quite inexpensive and what a great way for them to have their own memories
2. stickers - i have seen the packages of 8 sheets at stores for $1.89
3. look for inexpensive fanny packs - they can be bought for $3.99
4. our Brooks Drug stores have little packages of Disney candy

Use a basket you might have at home and arrange everything in four sections. Hope this might help. Caroline

Sue Ellen,
I know you are artistic. What about going to your local AC Moore or Michaels, and getting some different colored t-shirts and decorate them with characters. You can buy the iron on fabric now that runs through the computer. Download some cute Disney pictures and have fun making them each a shirt. Make sure you get the iron on stuff for dark shirts if you use dark shirts, the other stuff doesn't show up well.
I saw a little girl on a trip a few years ago who had the cutest little camera that took instant sticker photos. When they had a character sign her book they had an instant photo of the character with her. Kids love instant gratification.
Write out a little scavage hunt for them at each of the parks or the resort they are staying at. Make it easier for the 4 year old who's hand is holding up Spaceship Earth. Then for the 13 year old, how many spangles...lol. You can have little gifts like a Mickey lollipop or something, those jelly ones are on sale now at TDS.
I have the 100 years Passholder hunt book that has lots of quesions about MK, but I know yu can think of some great ones, and we will be glad to help if you like the idea.
I will ork on tis and ry to come up with others soon. Peggie

I just came back from the DS, if you can imagine that! ;)
I didn't look at the cost, but I saw the neatest book! It is a combination autograph book and photo album. Not huge -- great carrying size or for a kid. The cover was from the Disney Fun Seekers.
I had wish we had one for our trip!

How about putting the goodies in a canvas bag that they sell in the craft store.. You can either paint or iron on a disney character.
This way they can carry their goodies around.. A C Moore, Michaels crafts has them..

WOW, thanks and keep the ideas coming. Those photo/autograph books are what I just bought for the kids. I thought they would be perfect.

I like the t-shirt idea--I'll ask their mom who each child's favorite character is--maybe instead of ironing it onto a shirt I'll put it on a tote bag complete with the goodies for each child.

Please definitely keep these ideas coming. I have 2 1/2 more weeks to get things ready for them. Wish me luck on the park tickets--I'm working on getting those too.

I don't have any ideas that were not already mentioned but I did want to say what a nice thing you are doing...

Thanks Nat--I've had a couple of emails offering some Disney Dollars for the kids. I've also had one person who is going to get a couple of pins to add to the lanyards that I have for the kids. Wish the park ticket thing was going as well.

I picked up totebags from Michaels last night, and picked up the iron on transfers for computer images from Staples. I also found some stickers of the children's favorite characters at Michaels that are going in the bags. I would have NEVER have thought about that if it weren't for you all here.

Thanks!

Sue Ellen
