I was waiting for my re-sale points to be added to my membership to book the second half of vacation and now I am on a waitlist.

Bringing my parents. dad is in Kidney failure and this will be his first and last trip. He is not up for going to parks and okw is the only resort he would enjoy..(doesn't swim or like hotels but would enjoy the paTIO AND BOAT.)

So right now I have a a 2 bed lock off for Oct 10,11, and 12th deciated 13th lockoff 14th and dedicated 15th then we go to vb for 5 nights

it is way too much for dad too move any suggestion?

I waitlisted the 13 and 15th for a lockoff.

what are the chances of a waitlist comming through at this point?

cash ressie for 13th and 15th?

I asked ms about booking a one bed plus studio but they said they can't gaurentee they will connect.

I can't move mid trip I aso have two young children one with ASD it just can't happen....we already have airfare booked.

so I AM SOO stressed as I want this to be perfect as it will be such an awesome opportunity to spend time with dad with his quickly deteriorating health.....soo bummed thinking of cancelling wdw portion but my 4 and 6 year old will be devestated!

You still have 6 months for your waitlist to come through. I wouldn't panic just yet.

I agree. There's lots of time for the waitlist to come thru. If you'd like to give yourself some piece of mind you could see if you could book the two nights on cash thru MS so you know for certain you do not have to move.

think the wait list will work for you too.

that say if you can get there early.... then even if the wait list does not work for you - sometimes the front desk can do it.

but you must be there early!!!

Our flight doesn't get in till 5pm so we won't be there early.

I think the waitlist will work. OKW is huge.

But if it doesn't. Call at the 7 day window (call daily here) and see what they can do. As a last resort discuss it with the front desk on check in. That gives them several days to get your room situation addressed.

Now, take a DEEP breath. This trip will probably NOT be perfect, they rarely are. However, that does not mean they aren't great and that you won't have great memories. But expecting "perfection" means that the person most likely NOT to enjoy the trip is you. take the stress off, realize that it's not going to be perfect, but that you are going to smile and realize that the "little thing" that you think just ruined the vacation is in truth "little" in the big scheme of things. If you can get over the pursuit of perfection things will go much better IMHO :)

I think I would try to book those nights with cash via MS and then continue the wait list. While it might end up costing money vs. points, if you can get the continuous stay, that would be a huge stress gone.

This way, if the points wait list comes through, great--if not, not a big deal.

Good luck!

ok thanks I will do that....I am scared to see the cash price for a 2 bedroom....off to look.

I know it won't be perfect but I just want to have the room and dining worked out to take my dads mobility issues in mind....except for this minor snag I think I am good they deep breath helped :)

glad to hear I have a good chance with the waitlist...I was super suprised it was booked but we are used to booking 1 beds.

wow $685.00 A NIGHT i love my dvc. i dont think a cash ressie is an option.

Is that with the 25% member discount? If it is, wow, you are right--it really does make you love DVC.

Here is the pixiedust: that the wait list fills. I would also continue to call for the nights individually as sometimes I have heard that people had luck getting them this way, even when they were on the wait list.

Good luck!

Ouch! You also might call periodically to check on a dedicated 2BR for your whole stay since your two waitlists are taken up with the 2 nights.

We have a split stay for October--2 night at WL and the rest at Boardwalk. We own at both resorts, but I was not able to get a 2BR at the same resort for the entire trip. I callled today just to check on the waitlist, and asked if OKW 2BR was available for our entire stay. Nope, the 2BR was not available for the entire stay, but SSR was. If you are interested in SSR, you might be able to get all your nights.

I am sticking with the split stay. I enjoy both resorts, and it will probably work out okay for us--enjoy MK while at WL and then F&W after moving to BWV. We also love OKW, but we are not big SSR fans.

Hope your WL comes through.

just want to send some pixie dust your way and say that I think your waitlist will come through. If you haven't already you might want to add elevator building or first floor for health reasons if your Dad has difficulty with stairs. I would stick with OKW just for the balcony size if nothing else if you expect hime to spend a lot of time there. Hope it all works out for you.

I'm also just sending you some pixie dust.
I think the chances of your waitlist coming through are pretty high...just 4 days ago I waitlisted 3 different days of an October Kidani Village (October), the waitlist already came through!!!! I was beyond happy, and hope the same for you.

Good luck with your wait list, we had a wait list for BLT's for early November and that came through within 3-weeks, so fingers crossed for you. pixiedust:

You've wait listed the 13th and 15th for a lock-off, what about wait listing for the entire stay in a dedicated 2-bed and if that comes through first then wait list again for a lock-off 2-bed?

I think that even if your WL doesn't come through, you should ask the front desk to see if they can help when you get there. Don't stress and enjoy your vacation with your family! :)

I would call from time to time and check on the waitlist. Explain the situation to the MS CM. There are just too many anecdotal reports of "Oh gosh, look at that! Your waitlist just came through!" to ignore.

Pixie dust does happen. Good luck and have a great trip!

yes I will start calling regularly maybe once a week? I won't start stressing yet. I didn't realize the front desk can possibly help...hopefully it doesn't come to that :) thanks for all the help.

OKW is our 2nd fav resort 1st being VB but I read a lot that OKW is last choice for some so hopefully someone lses WL will come through and open up mine

i got a msg today from dvc with a link and when I clicked on it each night now states a lock off That was quick....thanks for the support:)
