We are planning on driving to WDW in June and would like some suggestions for specific hotels approximately 4-5 hours from WDW. We would like something clean and safe with a pool for the kids to unwind from the long drive.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We've stayed at both a Jameson Inn and a Budgetel in Brunswick, GA. That's about 36 miles from the Florida line.

Both were very clean, and both had pools.

We love the Embassy Suites in Brunswick, Ga. It is physically attached to a mall, so you have a place to walk around and get the kinks out. There is a 2 hour manager's reception at night and a free cooked to order breakfast in the morning. Also, all rooms are 2 room suites with separate bedroom and sitting areas. You get either a king or 2 doubles in the bedroom and there is a sleep sofa in the sitting area. If you figure the cost of breakfast for a family, the price is a good deal.

We stayed in Brunswick, GA too. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the hotel, but there were a few of them right there when you exited 95.

What about Savannah, Georgia ?? We are driving down from Long Island this June and plan on stopping in Savannah for the night. My map software puts Savannah about 5 hours from Disney. We are staying at the Fairfield Inn I95 .... any info. from anybody????

We've stayed at the Country Inns and Suites in Savannah (the one further south exit) and at the Holiday Inn in Brunswick (just a couple of weeks ago) and both are fine. The holiday inn you can find on Hotwire - we got it there for $45 or so for a night. Also that Holiday Inn is redoing its rooms and we got a newly refinished room and it was very nice.

Overall the hotel rooms in Brunswick seem to be cheaper (at least for my dates). The 2 cities are an hour apart and both are good places to stop!

Thanks for the information. There's nothing like checking into a nice clean hotel room when you and the kids have had enough of the highway. And there's nothing worse than finding a nasty, stinky, disgusting room, either (YUCK!!!)

I need to have a reservation before we leave. I have been in the postion where there are no rooms anywhere and we are soooo tired. It's awful.

Anyway, thanks for the tips!

The Savannah Marriot is really nice! Also the Hyatt is nice, right on the water and close to everything! We like staying at Savannah...because it is a getaway in itself!

Check out this thread:
Brunswick, GA
I used to live in Brunswick and now live in Savannah, I'm here if you have any questions. :flower: :sunny:
Also, there is the Richmond Hill exit just south of Savannah. Some new hotels going in there. But very crowded.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express North going and coming back. Great new hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. The best part was their indoor pool which is open late. We arrived late and the kids were able to swim. On our return trip, it was raining and we had something fun to do.

Good rates with AAA and a free breakfast bar the next morning.

Drive to Disney (All Stars) next day was not bad except for curves in Jacksonville on I-95....wow! Slow way down when you come through the city!

We are staying at a Hampton Inn at the Darien Ga exit of I95 on 6/18/05. Looks nice enough and I haven't had any real probalems with any Hampton Inns.
