When we go in feb our oldest dd will be 14 mos...so not a big eater. She will most likely eat off our plates some..but can you order sides??? Any other suggestions on feeding a little one in the parks without buying her own meal?

Can she eat off her older sister's plate? If she gets a kids meal maybe they can split things like mac and cheese. Buffets are really great for feeding toddlers. I think some of the counter service places offer sides too. I have heard you can ask for only part of the kids meal and the price is less.

She is the oldest(14 mos):flower3: Are there some buffets at the parks? Does anyone else know about ordering half a kids meal?:confused3

We are taking our granddaughter in May and she will be 14 mos. old. We are planning on having a nice breakfast every morning...mostly buffets and then just "snacking" the rest of the day. We'll probably eat pizza in the room a few nights so that she can have some of her regular (baby food) meals.

The few lunches and dinners we have ADRs for are all buffets. We have a couple of picky eaters with us and I thought we would be able to find things (mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, fruit, etc.) that she could eat.

We are also planning on carrying some foods for her during the day (applesauce, biter biscuits) so that we can keep her satisfied in between meals.

how about bringing her some of those gerber grads jarred fruits and veggies. I'm not sure how good of a table food eater she is but the kids meals are hamburgers and nuggets. There are lots of great buffets in the parks. They are all TS though..not sure if that's what you are looking for?

We fed my youngest off everyone else's plates and they all had plenty to eat. We'd get 3 kids meals and 4 of them would split and I'd still be carrying leftovers. It was too hot to eat a lot of the time though. I'm not sure what the weather will be when you go. I'd plan on bringing some stuff she likes from home and then supplementing with different sides. The kids really loved the grapes and I believe you can get a double side of grapes in a kids meal (and just cut in half to prevent a choking hazard).

Our DGB is 14 mo old and we eat out a lot with him. We never buy him a kids meal and I do not remember doing that with DS till he was like three. He eats fine off everyone's plate but I do keep him in mine when ordering. Buffets are wonderful and there are a lot of buffet character meals. I do always carry a plastic container of apple sauce because I know that he will eat that anytime and it balances out a meal that might not be quite as good as home. I also always have snacks such as the mini fish crackers, ceral etc. Keep easy healthy stuff in the room for her as well. Oatmeal /fruit can be a very healty easy meal.

When our kids were this age we brought some stuff and shared some stuff off our plates and we were FINE (especially since we usually get a 'dessert' here and there and that would fill them up anyway).

We brought some Dole fruit cups with us and would throw a couple of those in the backpack....also some crackers. If you think she'd want it - you could bring peanut butter 'portables' and little jelly packets and buy a couple slices of bread at the counter service meals to make a little PB&J sandwich (if you give her PB yet...otherwise just jelly). A small lunch sized cooler is a good thing to have. If you do order a kids meal and she decides she isn't hungry enough for more than a bite or two - you can always throw it in the cooler for an hour or two and offer it to her again when she might be more hungry.

We took our DD to Disney at 6 month and 18 months. She always would eat the Gerber Graduate meat sticks, and jarred fruits and veggies. When DH and I did eat, we would offer her some of our food, but never ordered her own.

Btw, the buffets are all table service - there aren't any quick service buffets. We did the dining plan, so I'm not quite sure what you can order separately at counter service, tho I know there are a lot of options (tho never cheaply, of course!) My kids were older for our WDW trip, but when we traveled with them at those ages, they definitely ate off our plates most of the time, plus bringing staples of crackers, etc.

We first took DS there when he was 13 months old and he basically just ate off of our plates. At some sit-down meals (I remember Ohana's breakfast specifically) the CM would bring some fruit over on a plate just for him, that type of thing. We never got him a meal of his own - he was good with the sharing. :)
