Hello all,

I am the maid of honor for my best friends wedding in a couple of weeks and I am looking for little extra things that I can do for the bride.

It is going to be a very budget wedding on the beach. She is taking care of the basics, like food and cake, pictures, etc.

I am open to all suggestions, as I have not been a maid of honor before, that I can do to add to her special day.

Thanks!!

If she hasn't done favours what about seashells with the date and initials on it? (or sea glass that stuff that has all the shiny parts rubbed off).

You can pick up bags of decorator glass or seashells at the dollar store...use a sharpie and pretty writing and voila!

Or bubbles for the guests.

If you can find them cheap enough (dollar store again) what about pails and shovels to put the seashell in along with a candy or such.

Or if your feeling really adventuresome go to the beach ahead of time with some friends to build "sandcastles" and such as decorations around the site.

And have fun!

I went to a wedding on the beach & they drew a large heart in the sand, big enough for the couple to stand in. It looked great in the photos. And they also outlined the heart in votive candles too.

How about scheduling a spa day for the two of you? Help her relax and enjoy herself. Make her breakfast the day of the wedding. Don't let her get too stressed out. The most important part of the wedding is that she's marrying the man she loves. Have a good time!

She is taking care of the favors already.

I love the heart in the sand idea, the ceremony will be later in the afternoon and the pictures will be with the sunset in the background. Do you know if the candles were lit in the pictures?

We have plans already to have manicures and pedicures done.

Anyone else??

Anyone have something "little" done by their bridesmaids that made their day even more special??

What about decorating their honeymoon suite... rose petals on the bed, etc...
My cousin did that when her SIL got married and it went over VERY well.

The thing that helped me most and that I've tried to help my sisters and friends get done are the little things like helping to run errands. If the florist needs to be paid, you can run to do it for the bride (her money, not yours :) ) If her programs need to be folded, you can do that. If she needs help making up her placecards, help her with that.

These were the stress-inducing things with which I appreciated getting help.

If these things are already handled, buy her and her new husband a nice bottle of champagne. I recommend a nice perrier jouet and not dom perignon or crystal. PJ has a more pleasant and fruity taste. The others, IMHO, taste flat even though they are full of bubbles. They can share the champagne later in their room... or else you can have it delivered to their house when they return so the celebration can continue.
