Hi everyone-

Our next trip is late August, we are doing about a week on land and then the 4-night Bahamian cruise. My DH is always really great at surprising me at Disney- with spa treatments and other special things, and I REALLY want to do something great for him this time. He's not a spa kind of guy, but is very much into the Disney magic.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? It doesn't need to be super romantic (it can be though), but anything just a little special or fun that he wouldn't expect. We are already doing a tour there as well.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give! :)

Is he into racing/cars? There's the Richard Petty Driving Experience, although it can be pricey depending on what level of driving you're looking at.

Or does he like water sports? I enjoy renting boats when we go to WDW, and I think they have other types of water sports available.

A nice dinner at Victoria & Alberts? I've also been reading about the Coral Reef and having some kind of personalized menu or having the diver do something.

Or maybe order a special dessert from the GF bakery while eating at one of the GF restaurants? I think things can also be ordered from the BW bakery, but I haven't read as much about that.

You could also have something special delivered to the room.

I know they offer Fishing Excursions in a variety of locations. I cant remember the persons name but they went out early in the AM around the lagoon @ epcot. It looked like a truely amazing expierence. Victoria and Alberts over a great upscale meal that Im sure he would enjoy as well.

Will think of more, in the mean time what is he into?

A few thoughts:
• An Illuminations (or Wishes) cruise is a wonderful experience. Although pricey, there are people here on the boards that are looking for people to share their cruises. Here's the link for August:

• How about a carriage ride? I've done the one at FW years ago, but very romantic. Could start the night with a nice dinner at the Cali Grill at the Contemporary, then catch the boat to FW.
• I have to throw a night at Jellyrolls in here. It's a dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk and a fun way to spend the evening.

That's all I can think of for now, but will post more as ideas come to me!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I've lurked for a little while, but my want to do something special forced me to finally give in and join up!

A carriage ride could be nice, and we do already have the dinner planned at California Grill during Wishes! Are they only offered at FW, or can you take them pretty much anywhere?

I have also heard some good things about Jellyrolls. We are going to spend some time at Boardwalk and have an ADR at Spoodles. Is it usually very packed in there?

We already have our ADRs all planned out, and I don't think we'll have time to fit in another meal at Victoria & Albert's... but a special dessert or something delivered to the room would be very nice.

I've never had something delivered before... are there certain packages you can choose from, or can you get something personalized?

He's very hard to surprise, as we do a LOT of planning for our Disney vacations!

The carriage rides are also offered at the Port Orleans resorts. Here's a link to the info:

Depends on which night (Tues., Fri. Sat. tend to be more crowded) and if there is a convention in town. JRs is 21+ with a $10 cover charge. Doors open at 7pm; entertainment starts at 8pm.

Take a pontoon boat ride during either the illuminations fireworks show or for the one at the Magic Kingdom...Its a great 2 hour pontoon ride around all parts of disney and the best view for fireworks...They have snacks and soft drinks on the pontoon...Last summer, we did the pontoon boat during the Magic Kingdom fireworks special...Couldn't have had a nicer driver/guide...It was fantastic...I took several of my friends and they all said it was the highlight of the Disney experience...

A few things we did last time that we enjoyed:

Hired a water mouse from WL and cruised around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.
Walked from WL to FW along the trail, romantic and free! Saw our own personal deer that I wanted to catch and bring home.
Dinner at California Grill (scrummy) for our Anniversary
Mini golf at BB and the one nr Swan (not expensive or romantic but a good laugh none the less ;) )
The pictures at DTD was a nice way to spend a wet afternoon.
If he's into computer games you can't beat Disney Quest but NOT when it's wet, all of WDW and their families are there.
Adventurers club at PI is good fun but take ID they wouldn't give me a drink and I'm 32 :rotfl:

Have a look what's on at Hard Rock over at Universal, DH has booked us tickets for Jeff Foxworthy for our trip in August :woohoo:
