Hi, we are planning on going to disney in October for a much needed family vacation. We have a dog (Frank the loveable chocolate lab) that we want to bring with us. We are looking for a rental off disney that will allow him to stay as well as a possible daycare that will treat him right. I know that disney has a kennel, but we're also looking for other options as well. Any suggestions, recommendations, tips, etc. will be much appreciated. He's my baby and his happiness means a lot to us. I want piece of mind he's taken care of so we can enjoy ourselves too! Thanks in advance for your help!

I have no first hand experience with doggie daycare in Orlando, but have done dog training thru Camp BowWow- they might have a location in Orlando. They offer daycare & boarding. Have you thought about boarding near your house instead? Seems less stressful & less money, for everyone. What happens if he gets hurt at the day care? Then you have to spend vacation time at a vet? I know friends who have found in home dog sitters, or board at their vets etc. we have an awesome dog sitter, who watches our dogs at her house! if you do decide to bring him, make sure he has a an updated micro chip, in case he gets lost.

There is a pet daycare on Disney property called Best Friends Pet Care. Even if you are not staying on property, you can still board your dog there.

When I went to Disneyland my family boarded their dogs at the pet daycare there and it was excellent.

I do agree with PP that it would be easier to board the dog closer to home and leave him. I have pets myself so I understand how important they are to the family, but it's a dog. It doesn't need to be included in every family event. Your search for accommodations may be harder because you're bringing him.

If you don't mind being off property a bit, there are quite a few pet-friendly rentals listed on the vacation rentals by owner page. We've rented houses several times from listings there and we haven't been disappointed yet. Not sure if I'm allowed to link to specific houses or not, but if you want to know where we stayed, feel free to pm me. :dog:

Starwood hotel properties are generally dog friendly (with the exception of the Swan/Dolphin). Maybe one of the other Sheratons?
