Suggestions needed for non-traditional dance!

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if there are any brides our there that did something other then a "slow" dance w/ dad?

My father is a sweetie but he hates to dance and is very uncomfortable with the idea. Me and him are close but not "daddys little girl" close. I was more or less his "tom boy" and I would love to surprise him with something more upbeat and fun. Even a game or something will work, just not a sappy slow dance!

My father and I danced to "Hey Old Pal" by John Denver and the muppets due to the fact we had the same problem

Hmmmm, you could always do an untraditional song (like hcb) and/or see if the DJ can cut if short for you so he won't have to dance a long time.

Another suggestion might be - instead of doing a solo dance with you & your dad, you could start the song with you & your dad, your DH & his mom, and either include the whole wedding party or have them join in. Your dad still gets his dance with you, but its a little less stressful for him....not sure how your FMIL would feel about sharing the dance, but lots of people get anxious about that so who knows...

I was just at a wedding where the bride/father danced to "My Girl" and it was so fun. I know they enjoyed it and the "audience" did as well.

Much less sappy and a faster tempo than the traditional songs/dance.

I was also thinking back to my fathers b-day at whispering canyon, we were made to ride around on pony sticks while singing happy b-day and he LOVED IT! lol maybe I can incorperate something like that ! hehe
