does anyone have suggestions of rooms for a one bedroom stay at VWL? will have two young daughters with us, planning on taking pool breaks during day. do any of the rooms give a view of the electric water parade or MK fireworks?
thanks so much

A lake side upper floor, say 4th or 5th, may afford a view of EWP. I understand a 5th floor room you can view some of the higher fireworks.

thank you for the reply-does anyone have any good room numbers they would like to share-going in May
thanks

I don't know of any rooms that have a clear view due to the trees. To view the parade, it's a easy 5 minute walk to the beach.

Mostly, you get woods, woods and woods with a peak of the lake through the trees. Difficult to get the fireworks from MK from your villa because the villas are on the far side of WL away from the MK. You can walk down to the boat dock and watch from there.

After asking for a high floor and been on the 5th floor twice - I don't like the balconies on the 5th floor since they are fully enclosed and you really can't see out if you sitting having your coffee. The last two visits I've gotten first floor units and truly enjoyed the expanse of the patio as you aren't "cooped" up by the railings of the balcony. Unless you get a 1 bedroom that has a view of the villas pool you will most likely be surrounded by the trees and not really get a view of the lake anyway. That said - I always ask for lakeside.

Your best bet for viewing the Electrical Water Parade from the villas would be to request a room on 4th or 5th floor (tip: 5th floor inside hallway does NOT have an interior open balcony to lobby....that area on the 5th is walled and is the CM area for VWL). The room requested should have a quiet pool view (there are only a few of these rooms.....since the building sort of does a backward L shape). Along with the quiet pool view you will have as much of a lake view as you can hope for at the VWL and should be able to see the parade. However, fireworks at the MK are another matter entirely. I have never seen them from the villas......only from the MK side of the lodge on the higher floors in the winter when the trees are not fully leaved.

As others have mentioned, the chance for a clear view is spotty at best and usually improbable.

We just returned a few weeks ago from VWL and stayed in perhaps one of our favorite 1BR units we have ever had there, Room 1507. Ground floor on the Hidden Springs Pool side. Literally a 15 second walk to the pool, a minute to a water parade view, and 30 seconds to the Lobby.

Have fun!

so should I request lakeview/lakeside or quiet pool view or is that the same thing? if not which is preferred? sorry if my questions sound dumb just have never been to VWL or the lodge itself and have no clue what to expect...thanks

Yes, basically the same thing. But remember, this is only a request and not guaranteed.
