Suggestions for using holding account points?

Thanks to Al Roker's good friend Wilma, the hurricane, I may be stuck with 176 points in my holding account that have to be used by May 31 and which can only be used for reservations 60 days in advance. Which DVC resorts or other accomodations available for points do you think might be unpopular enough to be available and at what times of year?

Any other experiences or suggestions would be appreciated. Where and when have you gotten reservations less than 60 days ahead?

Contemporary Resort, Wing Room. It was really kind of nice and we enjoyed the CR.

All of the WDW resorts available to DVC are likely to have vacancies depending on when you want to go. November to mid-December (excluding Thanksgiving weekend), January to mid-February are probably good. After Easter (4/16, so third week of April) thru May (excluding Memorial Day weekend) will be good. We have done AKL in December and YC in November within 60 days on points. The YC were holding points.

I thought I saw a post saying member services was waiving penalties for cancellations due to the hurricane. When did you cancel?
