Suggestions for surprising the kids?

I do realize this may not be the best place to post this; and wasn’t sure where the best place would be.

We are surprising the kids with a trip to WDW, leaving on New Year’s Eve. We’ll probably let them know at Christmas. It is not their first trip, although it will be the first time they’ve been to WDW other than in summer (we had the APs, got super cheap flights, you all know how quickly these things can happen – or how easily mommy can justify making them happen!).

They will be five and nine years old when we break the happy news; my little one is still a pre-reader.

Does anyone have any ideas of a way to make this surprise special, other than just telling them? I was thinking about a box with balloons holding a letter from Mickey, but that doesn’t seem quite right. I’d appreciate any ideas you’d be willing to share. Thank you!
