Hi, Any ideas for smelling fresh in the heat of Florida's summer? I don't want to get on the bus after a day in the park and have everyone head for the exit:tiptoe: Or stand for a parade and everyone move down the block. Actually that wouldn't be bad.
I like something light smelling. Got any suggestions for a nice smelling body spray/cologne/perfume. Any good ideas to keep the sweating at a minimum?

Thanks:cool2:

To be honest, to me as long as you wear a good deodorant/antipersperant everyday that should work fine. Sometimes a perfume or even a body spray can be too overpowering of a scent to some people. Definitely make sure you have deodorant if you're riding the bus and have to stand and hold the railings. I can't imagine anything worse than raising your arms above people sitting down and not having deodorant on. Thank goodness so far I've never experienced that when riding the buses there, but I'm always thinking when I'm in a seat and someone is standing raising their arms above me that they put on deodorant that day (especially if it's at the end of the day!).

Also, I have always been a fan of just sprinkling some light baby powder on to have have a light fresh scent.

I second the deodorant sugguestion! I put a good antiperspirant on various different places (like on my back near my waistline & chest area-hey, the "girls" are kinda big :rotfl2:...so that I am not dripping with sweat....I know TMI...:lmao: But it works!!:thumbsup2

For our most recent trip last August, I knew it was going to be HOT and I didn't want to be the smelly one on the bus either. I bought one of the prescription strength deodorants that are in the deodorant section. Can't remember which kind I bought- Dove maybe? It worked soooo well! I still felt "fresh" after a full day in the parks.

One thing I read about a few years ago to refreshen was to use one of those baby powder roll ons by Johnson & Johnson. I always find it in the baby supply section, not regular toiletries. I had one already from when my youngest was a baby so I took it with us to WDW a few years ago and stored it in my Park bag. Oh my, am I glad I brought that! It helped sooooo much with the dampness and smelled fresh too. Anytime I went to the restroom, I dabbed a little. I still used regular deodorant in the morning but for refreshening, nothing beats that roll on baby powder! We are going again in June this year and I already went and bought a new one for this trip. Love it!:thumbsup2

Definately D.O. for you B.O.

Thanks I am aware of that.
I bet YOU  always smell like a rose petal.

I just thought there might be some really good stuff out there that I am not aware of. I live in the North, but I have been in the South in the summer and it is hot and humid.
I have got good tips on makeup, shoes and bags here..............

That's a GREAT idea!! I never knew that they existed....I will have to check the baby isle when I go shopping this week!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

:)Don't know if you are male or female--assuming female since you are concerned about this subject--not to make the guys feel bad......Anyway, I have a full figure and purchase bra liners from Walter Drake (catalog is online). They are soft, cotton and wash very well. Love them in the summertime. I also use Micro-Guard Powder in my creases so to speak in addition to deoderant. It is made by Sween and has 2% Miconozole. The powder is awesome--no real scent but keeps you super dry. Crabtree & Evelyn make some terrific bath powders, too. :cutie:

There are some body "freshening" sprays that you could use. They are small aerosol sprays and can usually be found with the deodorants. They're not deodorant but a light spray that weakens that sweaty smell. Think of it like Febreeze for the body. :) They're very refreshing.

I personally do not know how well it works byt DH and a neighbor swear on "Florida Water" they sell it at the local pharmacies. It is suppose to really help keep you cool in the heat. I also use the DO/AP as a spray in other areas. I always liked to use it on my feet as well (learned that in vegas--sometimes even on the thighs; helps w/chapness.

I'm not sure if you are looking for ways to keep your deodorant fresh? Or for all over body? So I'll give you both...

I bring a travel size deodorant in my bag and just re-apply when I use the ladies room.

For all over, I'm always putting on sun lotion, so that is what I smell like at the end of the day....coppertone & cucumber cool dove! Not a combo made in heaven, but it could be way way worse :scared:

Also, before I leave the room for thd day, I always put on cool scent powder (from J&J...sort of cucumber-y smelling).

And of course mints are always good to have on hand ;)

I don't "Pack" for the parks...since my kids are now teens...so I am traveling "smaller"....but I always have a small perfume size sample in my small bag. It is one of those bags that you can slip inside your shirt....just carries small things...credit card, ID, small cash....a lip liner, etc.

For Epcot....Go See Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) in France...and you can squirt on some perfume samples! :)

MK has a Perfume area that I have not visited in years that may apply to this....it's around the Fantasyland area....I once 'made my own' perfume there... not sure if it's still there but I think it is....

Hugs,
Mary

becareful in fl with wearing perfum, THE BUGS LOVE IT!! :lmao:
oh and i love the one about people moving down a block that wouldnt be bad lol :rotfl2:

Interesting thread.....I too, sometimes pack a small thing of deodorant in my bag. We went to a wedding in Austin one year in August and it saved my life (and everyone else's I imagine...)

One thing I found that helps me is NEVER NEVER wear anything that's tight on my armpits. I sweat like a construction worker; no dainty "glowing" for me and I find that if I'm wearing something tight that I "pit out", it's worse and smellier. Wearing looser fitting t-shirts might help.

I also keep a small tube of sanitizing hand lotion (can't stand the alcohol stuff) in my bag. It's my "Disneyworld" scent: Amber Romance from Bath and Body Works. Helps throughout the day.....

This also sounds crazy but pack a small travel toothbrush/toothpaste. I know when I feel "less than fresh" a quick toothbrush usually perks me up and makes me feel (and maybe smell) better!!!

I keep a dryer sheet in one of my pockets...If you feel like you're smelling a little ripe, wipe it over your clothes, but usually it's good enough just being in the pocket. Also, it repels mosquitos so it does double duty.

I am a huge fan of the Gold Bond powder in the white bottle --- Ultimate, I think. It's not medicated or in the green... it has a fabulous scent (to me!) and is very light. I usually put some in a small plastic container, and get a huge powder puff to take --- then I put it in the usual places... backs of knees, waistband, arm pits, bend of elbows, around neck, under and between the girls (sorry boys!), inner thighs, etc.... it works VERY well.

Another thing to keep in mind! I happen to be allergic to perfume - so for me, that store @ Epcot is a special kind of he||. As is being near anyone who has doused themselves - something that still seems to be a strangely European custom.

I just wanted to say that I wish you were in line in front of me when it's 95 degrees. Somehow, I'm never that lucky. I'm always behind the person who forgot their deoderant that day :rotfl2:
