We will be at DL on a Sunday and Monday in July. I'd love to see the DL fireworks as well as World of Color and Fantasmic. Any suggestions on the best way to fit in all 3??

Do you think the Dinner package for WoC will be necessary?

Well since they will have theoretically 3 WoC shows a night, I would try to do WoC one night, and do Fantastmic and the fireworks in DL the same night. If you move right from one to the other it can be done somewhat easily.

I would say catch the fireworks than the later showing of F! on one night. The other night I would aim to grab a WoC fastpass early in the day or do a dinner package.

Good luck!

Long story short, no one knows. 2 weeks from now we should all have a MUCH better idea of how to handle things. (Too bad my trip will be done by then!) So you can make some plans in the back of your mind, but keep reading here and you'll figure out the best plan of action for sure.

That said, I like theorizing. :)

IF fireworks are not canceled, you can see fireworks from the castle and and then go over to the Rivers of America for a standing view of Fantasmic!. Basically you get a standing spot near Frontierland for fireworks, then the moment they stop, hustle and follow the crowd over to the Rivers of America.

The only problem there is that fireworks are sometimes canceled or cut short due to winds (it took us 3 tries to see Dumbo fly in June!). So there's no guarantee you'll see them, and even less of a guarantee you'll see Dumbo and Tink. If you absolutely want to see the fireworks from the castle, then there's not a 100% chance that you will be able to see them with Fantasmic and WoC.

At this point we just don't know, but I think it would be best to devote a separate night to World of Color. You would have a very difficult time doing fireworks and WoC in the same night, since they're basically on other ends of the resort--I'm not sure you could manage it unless MAYBE you went from fireworks to an 11:30 (or whatever) show that may or may not happen, and even then I wouldn't bet on it.

If you can swing the dinner, right now I would make the reservation, and then cancel if you decide it's not for you or if it turns out the "seats" (likely standing area) are horrible. I'd much rather have that dinner reservation than not right now and there is no harm in canceling it if it turns out it's not worth it. Plus even if you are cheap like me, you can value the dinner at at least $15 per person in food alone, so you're really only "paying" about $20-$25 for each World of Color standing spot. Yes, that's pricey, but if the show's a priority and your time is limited, that might be your best option.

Your other options APPEAR to be to try to grab Fastpasses very early in the day (eating up prime Disney time), or else wait in line for what could be several hours to get a standby spot.

But again...just guessing. :confused3

Have a great trip!

According to Al Lutz's new update there will only be standby for a possible 3rd showing of WOC. The first two shows are FP or Dinner Pachage only! I'd book the dinner JIC.

Ok...there's a FASTPASS for WoC? How did I miss that? I guess I need to do some more reading!

I think it sounds reasonable to try and do fireworks and F! on the same night and do WoC on the other night. We already have dinner reservations for the Sunday night so maybe we should try and do the dinner package on Monday....

are we thinking that the fast passes will go very quickly? I really need to find out more about that. Does anyone have a link to more info? Thanks for the suggestions!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2443719 has a lot of info on World of Color.

It has been speculated, however, that the first two shows WILL have about 2,000 seats of standby. Of course, it's also been speculated that those may be in the "splash zone" on the boardwalk. And the third show has not even been officially announced by Disney (nor have World of Color Fastpasses).

Pretty much all we have heard from Disney itself is that it will be open June 11. Two shows have been officially announced, and you can get space in a reserved section by booking one of the aforementioned dining packages. I've also seen photos of picnic lunches you can buy, but haven't heard from Disney itself about those (unless something just came up this morning).

That's not to say everything else we heard may not necessarily be accurate, but it hasn't come out from Disney to the masses.

Ok...well I went ahead and booked us a dining package at Ariels. There are no characters that night. (fine with me!) We booked for the second show. It's going to be a LOOOONG night! We'll be driving to our friends' house afterwards.

Is there a map posted anywhere of the viewing areas?

Well ~ we completed the Trifecta mid July last year - Electrical Parade, Magical and the 2nd Fantasmic! ~ it's very easy to see both the fireworks and F! in the same night. If you go to the 1st F! show you pretty much have to watch the fireworks from the F! viewing area and that's OK ~ we like to watch the 2nd F! show, after the fireworks we head over to F! and can get a great spot using the "light tower trick".

The light tower trick? Sounds interesting....what do you mean? Enlighten me! :goodvibes
