Suggestions for "quick" dining options

I'm putting together a list of dining options for our December trip. Yes, I know, it's 40 days away and I'm already planning food
What I need are some suggestions of places to eat that are "quick" as opposed to sit-down meals. For example, we're staying at the Polynesian so I'm sure we'll have at least one or two lunches at Captain Cook's for a quick bite, but I don't really want to have all our meals there.

We will be in WDW for 4 days so we don't have that many meals to plan. I think breakfasts are taken care of because we have two character meals reserved already and we'll probably just do the old stand-by Captain Cook's for the other two.

Can anyone else suggest some places with good sandwiches, pizza, that sort of thing? We're trying not to spend too much on food since we're doing the DCL cruise after WDW so we'll have some good meals during those three days.

Sorry I made this so long. I tend to be more long-winded than usual late at night. :p

Thanks for any help you can offer! :)

Don't worry about planning meals far in advance. Planning is half the fun! We are leaving in 24 days, and I have most of my meals planned for months, now! :p

Some counter service restaurants I like are Columbia Harbour House in the MK, and Tusker House at AK. The counter service at the Land in Epcot also has a lot of choices.

I second the Columbia Harbor House in the MK and the Tusker House in the AK. Those are my favorite counter-service restaurants in those parks. I like the Coral Reef sandwich at the CHH and Tusker House Chicken Salad at the Tusker House. In Epcot I like the Yakitori House in Japan for fried shrimp and udon noodles. I don't like any of the counter service at MGM, but we usually end up with burgers or chicken strips at Rosie's All American Cafe.

I was just looking over my choices ... maybe MGM needs a counter service restaurant with the word "House" in it and I'd like it!

A CM that works at the Food and Fun food court at CR said the steak and cheese sandwhich is excellent. You could take the monorail over and try it?! Have fun planning!

Aunt Pollys over on Tom Sawyer 's island is one of my favorite sandwich places. They have a really limited menu and it takes a while to arrive but have some great views. It is one of the few eating places at MK where time seems to slow down a little. There is a duck food vending machine that helps if kids get bored.

11/06 Thanks Princesstimes2 (see below) for the info I missed that menu change.

RussH,
I read a post here a couple of months ago?? that said Aunt Polly's no longer serves sandwiches. So this may not be an option. I don't know if anyone else knows for sure. Anyone????

We ate at Cosmic Ray's in January and the food was excellent and it was VERY reasonable. We ordered the family meal: whole rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and corn muffins. We will eat there again.

Epcot: Tangerine Cafe, Sunshine Season Food Fair, Yorkshire County Fish Shop, Lotus Blossum

MK: Columbia, Caseys

Studios: Commissary, Rosies

Resorts: Riverside Mill, Beaches & Cream, Roaring Forks

Grumpy92, Princesstimes2, RussH, travelitis, Muffy, robinb, and Krissalee - thank you all so much for your replies! :Pinkbounc

travelitis - I was on a website (can't remember which one since I have so many in my Favorites right now) looking at menus and got so overwhelmed with the choices that I came here hoping to narrow down the list a bit ;)

robinb - I didn't even pick up on the "house" connection until I read the end of your post :p Hmmm... that's good to know, look for restaurants with the word house in their names. LOL ;)

Muffy - I think DH would go anywhere for a good steak and cheese! :p Thanks!

Thank you all! I'm going to add these restaurants to my list now. :Pinkbounc

Krissalee - I forgot to add this to my last post...

Enjoy your 30th Birthday in WDW! :Pinkbounc

Maybe I'll get to go back for mine next year. :p
(not holding my breath, though!)

A good place for a 'quick' dinner is Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney... It's quick and easy, plus, the pizza is DELICIOUS!!! The only downside is that its in Downtown Disney, not in any hotel or park. Its worth the extra drive tho!

We were very pleasantly surprised at the food court in The Land. We ate at the Pasta and Potato section and it was GOOD! I was not expecting much and was very surprised! :)

DisneyGirl421 - Did you say PIZZA?! That's the magic word for me. LOL :p Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely add that to my list. (Like at the top!) We are planning on visiting Downtown Disney during our trip so I'll keep your suggestion in mind when I start craving pizza.

Luv2Roam - Thanks for bringing up the food court; that might have been a place I would've overlooked. ;)
