suggestions for moving from AKV to universal area hotel

We are considering topping off our next disney vacation with a trip to universal but would be staying for a few days at a universal area hotel. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get from the AK resort to an offsite hotel? We are a large family of 7..maybe with a guest and tend to have quite a bit of luggage! Wondering if a taxi service could fit us all or if we might need to rent a car (or 2) but if we did is there a car rental place that would have a pick up near disney hotel but a drop off near the international drive hotel? Never rented a car before or gone off property on a disney vacation so any advice would be helpful! TIA!
