Suggestions for Hollywood Studios?

So here I am, in the parks, and I'm heading to Hollywood Studios first thing in the morning to meet Hiro and Baymax. Problem: there's nothing for me to do afterwards and I have no park-hopper ticket! I'm a scaredycat so Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster is definitely a no-go for me, and even if I ride Star Tours and The Movie Ride that's only two rides. I even heard there might be rain in the afternoon, so that means no outdoor shows, right?

Anyone have any suggestions? What was your best memory at MGM Hollywood Studios?

If it were me, I would take the opportunity to explore every nook and cranny of the park. Walk slowly and look at everything. We did this one day last December. We were at Hollywood Studios at rope drop and wanted to stay for the Osborne lights. I was just with my Mom who uses a scooter and doesn't do rides, just shows. We had lunch at Sci Fi theatre, a long coffee break at the Writers nook, and dinner at ABC Commisary. We did the Animation experience twice! The day went by very quickly and is a great memory!

Don't forget Toy Story Mania (which is best hit at RD)..... Beauty and the Beast stage show is amazing as well. A great exploring session of the park sounds great!

Indiana Jones show, Walt: One Mans Dream, Animation Academy, Lights Motor Action show, enjoying the characters along the streets, plus, Star Wars weekend will make for a lot to do. Have fun and soak it all in!

I second The Toy Story ride. I by passed on previous trip because I didn't think I would like it. It's really a lot of fun.

TSMM is on of our favs. Even if you have to wait in a long line, I would do it since you have a day to kill. The queue is cute and moves pretty fast IMO. Don't know if you have kids, but we loved the Disney Jr. Live show. People say there are awesome cupcakes somewhere, not sure but I think it's called Starring Rolls. There are tons of shows to do, I would just wander around and hop into the shows. Brown Derby is excellent and I don't think you need ADR if you are eating on the patio-someone correct me if I'm wrong. A day wandering around HS sounds awesome to me!

Thanks to everyone!! I'm very excited now!! Only trouble is the afternoon storms...40% according to the weather forecasters. :S I hope HS is just as fun in a storm!

I loved the Animation area. We did everything there! If you can get a FP+ for TSMM, it's awesome. If you can tolerate long lines, it might interest you going on the stand-by!

They have this very cute small cafe called Writer's Stop, that's great for a small break in the afternoon (-:

I love RnRC, ToT and TSM however even after all these years I still enjoy Muppets 3D, Indy Jones, and Lights-Motors. I always do a bunch of my souvenir shopping at HS. HS has interesting restaurants for lunch. My family has no trouble filling the day. Check out the daily entertainment and catch some shows like Mulch,Sweat and Tears or street actors. We usually do an evening at HS because we enjoy the atmosphere and a rope drop but we always get hoppers. You could leave the park mid-afternoon if the storms move in and return for F! if they clear later. Good luck.

Don't miss the Animation Academy. Fun for all ages & a great indoor activity. I always try to do that, One Man's Dream, Movie Ride and Star Tours.

I don't care much for thrill rides either but still love a day at Hollywood Studios! TSMM, the Animation Academy, and The Great Movie Ride are all must do more than one attractions for me. I also enjoy Star Tours, the Indiana Jones show, and the Muppets (yay Muppets!). One Man's Dream is always worth a visit and I like (but don't love) Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. I also adore the cupcakes at Starring Rolls and I think lunch at the Sci Fi is super fun. The Brown Derby is wonderful (but expensive) and the fried chicken is great at the Prime Time Cafe even though the schtick annoys me.

About the only thing I don't like is Fantasmic!
