Suggestions for good optical center? (Need glasses!)

Anyone able to suggest a good chain optical center? Need glasses for driving and don't really require the services of an ophthalmologist at this time.

I buy my glasses online at zennioptical.com. These are prescription glasses and I have about 8 pairs from them.

They are very low cost (start at $8 for a complete pair).

Took a look at their site and really liked lots of what I saw. Love the prices! Thing is, I've never worn glass before and am confused about much of what I read on the site. For instance, how do I know what my bridge width is? I realize I can get an eye exam locally and use that prescription but what about all the other info required for getting a proper fit?

Big question...is the price listed next to a frame the COMPLETE price?

No, I don't really require the services of a medical doctor when an optometrist is able to test my eyes and write an eyeglass prescription. At this time, I'm not aware of an eye disease that needs to be treated nor do I require eye surgery. If and when I ever do, you can bet I'll be seeking the services of an opthalmologist. Also, if an optometrist finds a problem during my exam that they can't handle, I'll also seek out the services of an opthalmologist.

Yes, the price includes the frame and single vision ordinary lenses. I usually add on the anti-glare for $5. You can also get them tinted for sunglasses and that's another $5.

As for the prescription info, you can call you optometrist and ask for the pupil distance. That measure the distance between the two pupils in millimeters. My husband actually just measured mine with a ruler and all the vision from my glasses has been very good.

Based on the pupil distance, you will only be able to fit certain frames. I have never bothered with bridge width or the anything else. Also, I tend to buy the plastic frames. I have them in a bunch of colors.
