I'm looking for a sunscreen I can wear under my powder that doesn't make my face look like a greasepit. Any favs out there? Thanks!

I have extremely oily skin and I struggled for years to find a good sunscreen. I use Proactive products and I really love their moisturizer that has sunscreen in it. I know if you have oily skin you think, "NOT MOISTURIZER!" because I used to be that way, but this kind is oil free and I love it. It is made just for the face and for oily skin. You can order it online or maybe you have a kiosk at your mall. I have also learned that my makeup looks a lot better when I have this on under my foundation. So, thats my pick- good luck finding what you need!

I started using the Neutrogena SPF 55 - on the advice of my dermatologist. It's great for oily skin - it's not greasy.

I have oily skin too. Have you thought about replacing your powder with mineral makeup? I ADORE Bare Minerals, and it has a built in 15 SPF. Their Bisque product has an SPF of 20. You'd save yourself having to use an extra product, not run the risk of anything oily on your skin, and have the powder finish you like and SPF combined. Once I started using it, I've never gone back to anything else. I stopped having any oiliness or shine on my face, and also stopped breaking out. It's made me look years younger (most people wouldn't guess from looking at me that I'll be 45 in June).

I find that the ones that are spray on mist from an aerosol can are really non-oily. They are a pita to put on the face but I find if I close my eyes, and hold my breath, it is fine, and much less oily than any other sunscreen. (just make sure you REMOVE glasses first - have sprayed glasses a couple of times and it is VERY hard to get off!!) OTOH you can just spray into your hands and apply to face also.

I have super oily skin and I use the Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock 70 SPF. I bought it from Wal-Mart for about $9 and it works great- not smelly, not greasy.

This is what I was going to suggest, along with switching to mineral makeup.

In fact, I found the Neutrogena Dry Touch in our Wal Marts the other day with an spf of 80. Unfortunately, I had already purchased it a couple of weeks ago with the spf 70. I bought two bottles of the rub on and two cans of the spray. I love the spray on, but those cans don't seem to last long. I can't stand the feel of sticky/greasy sunscreen, so really love the dry touch by Neutrogena.

I am not a Bare Escentual fan (don't like the bismuth in it or the shine it gives my face), however there are other mineral makeups out there that are great and stay on all day, no matter what you put your face through. I currently use either Pure Luxe Minerals or Dreamworld minerals. Both offer sample sizes that are perfect to carry to WDW.

I don't know how well that option really works. Granted, I tan super easy and super fast, but I still got burned a little with just the Bare Minerals. I'd definitely be more comfortable with a light weight sunscreen, too.

The honeymoon is almost over with Bare Minerals for me, as well. There are similar products all over the place now, so thanks for the suggestions!! I'm going to try some new ones!

Where do you buy the Pure Lux and Dreamworld minerals?

Pureluxecosmetics.com and dreamworldminerals.com. You might also want to try meowcosmetics.com. I just happen to prefer Pure Luxe and Dreamworld because their owners have such fantastic customer service. If you have trouble finding a foundation match, you can play around with their samples until you find a perfect match and then when you order the full size from them, they will custom match the foundation for you. The one thing I like about Pure Luxe over Dreamworld is that Pure Luxe samples come in little jars, whereas Dreamworld's come in little baggies. Both have generous samples though and they are only $1.00. They are so concentrated it takes only a very, very tiny amount, because they do no use fillers and neither use bismuth. You may also want to try everydayminerals.com. I don't particularly care for them and they don't have as many beautiful choices as Pure Luxe and Dreamworld do, but alot of people like them, and you can get a good sized sample kit (three foundations, concealer, and blush) free. All you have to do is pay shipping..

Pure Luxe makes a Translucent Matte that you can use as both a Primer and/or Top Coat to keep oil at bay. I usually apply very thin layers of her Powder Eraser, then maybe one of her color correctors (usually the yellow powder under my eyes), then a thin layer of foundation, then another thin layer of Translucent Matte, then her April's Mix as a final top coat. After blush and eyeshadow my face is then set for the day.

I want to seconds or third the dry touch suggestion. I get mine either at Costco or when CVS has it on sale.

I use an Oil of Olay products. Olay complete with SPF 15 for oily skin. I use with make up all the time. :cutie:

I love DERMAdoctor body guard spf 30. It leaves no greasy look or feel. Its almost like you put nothing on.

Another vote for Neutrogena. They have a sunscreen that goes on as a cream, but is not oily.

With Bare Minerals, I think you'd have to apply it pretty heavily to get a true SPF of 15 (even though they say that's what it is on the packaging). I have read some articles in beauty magazines that say (I'm paraphrasing here) "Don't rely on your foundation to provide your sunscreen - you have to apply it pretty heavily over every inch of your face to get true sun protection, and very few people really do that! Plus, with sunscreens, you need to reapply them every few hours for the best protection - who would do that with sunscreen?" To me, if you wear a foundation with sunscreen, consider that "added protection," not your main sunscreen. I use Aveeno Ultra Calming Sensitive Skin SPF 15 on my face for everyday use, and when I know I'm going to be spending any time in the sun (weekends, etc.), I use Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 30.

Even when you use "real" sunscreen, people don't generally apply enough to get the true SPF listed on the bottle. You have to apply a shot-glass full to get the true SPF, and reapply it every couple of hours.

Okay, lecture over! To answer your original question, I like Neutrogena sunscreens. I have had great luck with the Neutrogena Dry Touch products, as well as the Neutrogena product that's called "Oil Free." Both have great textures (not sticky or greasy). I also had great results from the Neutrogena spray-on sunscreens - they're great for legs!

I just checked out Pure Luxe, have you ever used the Whipped Cream foundation? I have rosacea and need heavier coverage on my nose but light everywhere else. I hate the cakey look but can't stand when the foundation doesn't cover enough either!
