I'd really like to see St. John and Trunk Bay. There seem to be serveral excursions that take you there. I would rather do one of the boat trips rather than just the beach tour.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Joanne

Although I haven't cruised yet I am planning on doing Trunk Bay on my own. I have read on this board that it is cheaper to do it on your own. Also from what I understand is you are able to stay longer than if you were on an excursion. The downfall of this is if you don't make is back to the ship on time they will not wait for you. So, if you do it on your own just plan it safe and give yourself plenty of time to return to the ship. Good luck and let us know if you enjoyed Trunk Bay.

Well, it is not exactly St. John, but this excursion from St. Thomas is awesome!!!!

We did the Capt. Nautica excursion. We met them right at the dock and you go to the end of the dock to board a speed boat. If you do this, take the morning time.

One of the best things about this was that we went to 3 different places to snorkel. Turtle Cove (which is one of the other excursions), Shipwreck cove (which is one of the other excursions) and St. James. St. James was absolutely amazing!!!!!

They do switch where they go so that you get the best snorkeling. And I have to say, they did an awesome job!!!

The other cool thing was the boat ride. It is fast, bumpy and a lot of fun. You can sit toward the back of the boat for a less bumpy ride. Sit at the front if you like rollercoasters!!!

Since it is so fast, you arrive well before other excursions that are scheduled at those places. We were the first ones to Turtle cove and saw a bunch of turtles. As we left, more excursions were arriving, and the people were not seeing the turtles.

We were also first to St. James. Again, awesome!!!

Shipwreck cove was our second stop. It was definitely more crowded. We only spent 30 min. here.

We had at least 21/2 hours of snorkeling!!!

This is a top notch group. They did make a quick speech about tips. But the $10 we tipped was well worth it.

My mum just got back from a cruise to St. Thomas and St. John. They did St. John, said the snorkeling and water was wonderful, did it through the cruise (RCL).

We did the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel tour in May and it was a blast!!!! We had such a great time and going on a pirate sailboat was awesome! They were so good with kids and adults alike! The pirate tatoo each of us got was a huge hit as well.

You can look at them at

We also did the Doubloon, sail out , then snorkel, then punch and tatoos on the way back with lots of singing. Fun,Fun, Fun and our kids had a great time too!:smooth:

Tink...didn't you just LOVE those Banana Benders and Pain Killers?? LOL

I loved the whole thing..it was a riot! The "Pirates" were so good with the kids! I absolutely thought it was worth the $$ and more and our kids were the hit of CC with their "tats"
